You Know You Are Old When

I liked what I read earlier today on TBN... tell me how old you are if you don't know when you were born.
I could shave 20 yrs, . not bad for a septuagenarian

Honest to goodness I'm 63 and don't feel older than 45. (knock on wood).

Lets face facts. we are all 25-40 year olds trapped in a steadily aging body.

My brain feels fine actually LOL

That said, a buddy use to have a saying engraved on his wooden paddle (attributed to Benared Shaw) "people don't stop playing because they get old, they get old because they stop playing".

Reality is my body does not allow me to play like I use to.

Wait till you get a few years older.

70 is a tipping point and maybe 73 is when it really hits. Get all you can get done now and if you can get older with a great diet and enough exercise under your belt you can go longer. Sometimes much longer.

Who remembers Tiny Tim?

I saw him in person and he had just gotten married…

Have a promo album.

I was in Hollywood and someone had tickets for the Mike Douglas Show and Victoria Principal and Tiny Tim guest stars that day…

Also went to Peoples Court.

We watched Lawrence Welk, because we had one channel. I liked the Lemmon Sisters (sp), they sang great and were pretty.

We could stay up at Grandma’s but no talking during Lawrence Welk…

It was her program and rules were rules… she would travel to Tahoe to catch the show and Myron Florin would come over to speak with her…

And who could forget the bubbles and the lovely Anacani?

She made all of her outfits as a master seamstress…

After our wedding reception, everyone came to my dad's house (my mom past away before my wife and I met).

That is a tradition in a lot of Eastern European countries ("stealing" the bride).

We are all dancing the living room in my parents house.

Family comes to tell me that they took my wife.

Let's just say I didn't take it well, and I got my wife back

I’ve stolen a few brides to a nearby tavern and the ransom required the groom paying the bat tab!

Yep. As a kid, we knew that when the street lights came on it was time to go home.
