I have some berry plants coming and need to build a trellis. Just wondering how others have done this.

Thanks
Dave

In my garden, I just put two posts at the end and a couple T posts along the line, then attached some 2x4 welded wire. Works for beans too!!!

I've thought about building a tripod to go over the plant, but haven't done it yet. My plan is to cut some Cedar Branches off of a tree and use three of them to form a TeePee type tripod for the plant to climb up.

Thanks, I was thinking of going with t-posts and wire. I remember my dad had some devices that you pushed a wire through, and it would not come back out. Kind of like Chinese handcuffs. I can't for the life of me remember what they are called.

I would have a look at high tensile wire fence accessories for things like this; I would poke around with words like wire end fasteners

You might also try wire railing accessories for end grips.

All the best,

Peter

Wirevise is what I googled. Think I even have some laying around.

I built this trellis like thing for the wife's climbing Columbine. Quick, easy, cheep and when covered with the plants and blooms - almost completely invisible. Look behind the farm wagon. Click on the picture - that's plain old chicken wire stretched across the plastic pipe.
