Good morning all!

Starting Thursday, the forecast is for 81 inches of snow over Donner Summit. More than 6 feet of snow with most of it on Thu, Fri, and Sat.

That much snow will fully erase our "mild winter" into a normal winter.

Unfortunately I'm going to get stuck on the CA side. Probably sneak back over Donner Summit on Sunday when only 4" of snow is forecast.

Everyone have a great day!!

job. Now at close to 82 I am glad I was able to retire at 62.
I retired at 62.

Learned to back trailers with a tractor, no problem doing it with a truck, but short ones are harder to back because of short wheelbase,

Cool downstairs this morning, wife said because I turned off the stove. I had to remind her she turned it off yesterday. Anyways it just lit, room temp already up to 69.

good morning,
50 going to 59 nice but rain tonight

retired at 70 now going on 12 years retired
My last assignment was managing warranty phase for a series of large projects. Something that I enjoyed doing and the interaction with clients and suppliers was fun and interesting. And it did not involve driving to Ohio all the time plus travel to Japan was more fun

Did 10000 steps yesterday but usually range between 5000 and 10000.

Buppies wish for a speedy recovery

Cody is still doing well. No news on what caused the seizure

Going to town to pick up a few things

Good morning, the low is39 and going to a high of 46°F. Wind S 15 mph. T-storms that were in the forecast are here.

Bye, bye snow.

I slept in. Up at 08:45 hrs.

I don't count steps either.

I have been semi-retired for 12 years (only work 4-5 months/year).

I think I like winter better than summer. Okay, call me nuts but there are less bugs in winter and NO snakes.

One of my jobs this summer will be to take the plug off the dug well and fish the snakes out of it. I don't like snakes but somebody has to do it. These are only garter snakes and copper belly water snakes. The copper bellies are more aggressive, bordering on down right nasty when you fish them out.
In my neck of the woods there are no rattlers, so they say.
I have never seen a rattle snake in the Province of Ontario. I have seen them in Alberta when I worked there.

I have the Dewalt cordless grease gun and a Husquvarna (sp) chainsaw.

As for what I am going to do today?
N o t h i n g. It is raining out.

Have a safe day all

We have found the Costco lasagna to be excellent. It's the only food we buy there.
most of their kirkland branded food is pretty good. Like the lasagna also. We also like the chicken alfredo, but they didn't have any the other day. Also like their shrimp platters. We also tried their chicken noodle soup and it was also good. I also bought some panera chicken tortilla soup, haven't tried it yet. Now I'm hungry....

Just a rant: On the FB picture site I run, I ask people to use the SHARE button when sharing to other sites. I have this one person, who runs multiple sites on FB, who keeps "stealing" pics and reposting on her sites, without crediting my site. Now I help this lady out a lot, as she gets things wrong a lot, and I provide a lot of help to her. Now granted, some of the pics I post are historical, over 100 years old that I have found searching the internet, but I generate posts and match historical info with the picture, whereas I just found a picture with no context. So I'm pretty pissed this morning to see she stole another pic and posted it on her site, after I spent a bunch of time yesterday recording data about the picture. Then another site shares her post, with the picture. And her data she added is wrong. I just posted a comment on her site saying I posted this picture yesterday on my site, and left it at that. Very frustrating to put all the work in, and have someone else take it. I know the answer is to stop helping her, but I can't stand to see her posting wrong info about historical things. rant off:

Maybe it's time to block her from your site?

my brother did some work at dad's yesterday. he raised his well pump 14", as it is sucking in a lot of mud. He went to change the house water filter, and discovered no filter in it. Dad has for years been washing out and reusing filters, which is why his water is aweful. hopefully raising the pump some will help. THis is a dug well (cistern) feed from the barn roof. In the past, when the well would go dry, dad would climb down the well with a ladder and clean the bottom out, this hasn't been done in 40 years probably. There is another dug well near the barn, and if the well went dry we would pump over from that well, or pump water, or use the water tank in this trailer to haul water from the spring to the well.

For drinking water, we used a hand pump well in front of the house. Many years ago I put a submersible pump in that well and piped it to the kitchen sink, cold side only. It has a separate filter, and my brother couldn't get the bypass to work in order to change that filter (if it has one). I decided to add this post to my "life on the farm" thread, haven't added anything there for awhile.

Good Morning
It’s 32° headed to 60 today. It’s sunny now, will be raining by the time the temperature peaks.

Yesterday had a batch of small chores interrupting the speaker work, but still managed some progress. I got a new 1/2” shank double spiral solid carbide flush trim bit that works great. Much faster than the 1/4” shank straight fluted brazed carbide bit I was using, and it does a great job.

Today will be back to the shop, have a doctor’s appointment late morning, that will slow progress a bit, but not bring it to a standstill.

Just got back from breakfast with the professor, and realized I didn’t post this.

62°F and 1.94 inches rain. Rained all night or at least the 4 times I got up. Geez

Looks like a wet, inside day. Definitely a no mow day.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Afternoon Guys ,
Scott, I retired from ITW in 2004. Did consulting part time for them until 2009. Was a good way to get accustomed to not having a everyday job. Now at close to 82 I am glad I was able to retire at 62.
Ron, I’m betting there are a lot of people reading your post that wish they could retire at 62 ! For me back in 2008, the economy fell through the floor ! I had 20 years at PB, so technically I was able to retire ! Also both our sons were out of college so I decided to work part time outside ! I had the CDL through the FD, so just needed to get endorsements! Driving trucks had nothing to do with the trade I spent my life doing, but I really liked working by myself !

PopG, yes I would think that the spiral flush cut carbide would be the ticket for trimming plywood ! The glued laminations would kill a HS bit quickly !
Nice work !

Have a Great Day ! 🙏

My first retirement was through coming to a mutual agreement with my company that my services were no longer going to be offered.

- 26 years of service and they moved in a different direction.

My second retirement was through poor marketing/salesmanship and contract stipulations that I could no honor.

- as a sole proprietor I could not meet the nonnegotiable requirements.

My third retirement will come because I need it to happen on my terms.

- barring physical/spiritual/emotional/financial or mental breakdowns of course.

My original plan was to retire at 55. Did not happen because I had to many hobbies. Needed to pay off the bills they created before retiring.

I can, but I participate on her sites, and will just get blocked back, although I give way more. anyways, I asked, and she responded she got the pics from a different site, just coincidence that it showed up a few hours after I posted it......
It's possible she just didn't make the connection to what the picture was until I posted it, then she put 2 and 2 together. As often as I've corrected things on her site, I should be an admin.
I spent the day going thru a lot of my posts and watermarking all the pics I have posted. It won't happen again.

I've had a couple people on the site claim that other people had taken their pics from FB and submitted them on my site as their own. I've had to delete a few when they wouldn't attempt to verify the pics were theirs. Those people do get banned from the site.
