Good morning!!!!

Good Morning!!!! 46 here in Orcutt, CA. Partly cloudy skies. High near 70F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph.

I raised the 7 ft flail up chest height and easily cleaned up the knicks on the flail hammers.

Don't wanna come off as a safety ****, Scotty, but there's no way in H*** I'd get under something hanging from a FEL, especially after just blowing a hydraulic line on my grapple. I have replaced the hammers on my flail, but it was mounted on the 3PH an supported by a pair of jack stands. Not at all uncomfortable sitting down on a rolling stool.

There but for the grace of God, Buppies. Be strong...

Dickie Betts, another good one gone.

Almost a perfect trip down yesterday until a careless driver didn't bother to check over her shoulder and almost sideswiped me as she tried to merge onto US101. First time I've ever used the horn on the Promaster, and she almost went off the road jerking her car back to the right. I never once saw her turn her head to the left to even try to look over her shoulder.

Ran into more Kalifornia Kraziness when I tried to buy RM43 yesterday. Amazon, Home Depot, and Walmart won't ship it to California, apparently because it contains glyphosate. I went up to the manufacturer's website just now looking for the reason, and found none published. They offer it for sale there, so I placed an order for a 2.5 gallon jug with free UPS shipping. The price was a stiff $174, more than twice what it was last time I got it at TSC, but hopefully this'll be the last of it I'll ever need it. The weeds are so bad on the loop road we dozed out in '22 that I almost can't tell where it is. My bad for letting it get away from me, but it only took a week or two.

Lots of unloading and unpacking in my immediate future...

TGIF gang!

Good Morning,
Ct, 45 to start going to 55 ! Light rain last night , I don’t think we got too much !

Wngsprd, beautiful puppy ! Must be a handful ! 😉

Ron, beautiful picture of the sunrise! 🙏

Things not going great here since getting back from vacation ! Mice got up onto my downstairs mini split and chewed wires etc ! I need to install a new head in the downstairs unit ! Hopefully things will turn around in the other direction soon !

Pretty sore from digging and working on the pool yesterday, may take the day off from that or only do a minimum amount of physical labor today ! Lawn needs cutting again but I’m not sure it will dry out enough, we will see !

Hope all have a Good Friday!!

I helped move my sister and her husband from Idaho Falls to Ogden back in 1978, my pickup and a 16 foot open stock trailer stacked high.
On my way back to Nampa Id, I left Ogden and went out by way of the north end of the lake following 2 track desert roads. It was a nice trip after the hectic move.

Lawn is far over rated.
I grew up in Essex Center, Vt. from ~1958 to 1973. My Dad and Grandfather bought a 30 acre parcel of the most beautiful land. Gently rolling, about 30 acres total. We [Grandfather (a master carpenter, former railroad Engineer), Dad (Mechanical Engineer at IBM), and I (gopher from age 12 up)] cleared and built a duplex for both the families over the course of about 3 years.
My Grandfather was addicted to LAWN. My Dad liked to hunt and fish, often with me.
Grandfather started with about half an acre of lawn tight to the house, enough to keep the bugs down. But then kept adding to it EVERY YEAR. My Dad mowed the lawn, starting with only a pushmower Craftsman 4HP lawnmower. But eventually moving up to a 15HP riding tractor as the acreage maintained expanded to about 5 acres.
During the summer he spent most of his "free" time mowing (this was before ZT's). He grew to hate it.
Since then I've always tried to keep my lawns minimal in size.

60F and sunny @ 11:00, heading up to around 62F for the day's high. Winds will be out of the NNW @ 10 to 15 mph.

LWS reports that yesterday's rainfall totaled 2.88" ...

... which means the grass will be growing like crazy ... 🤬

Made it in for the doctor's appointment yesterday, weight and BP pretty much were they should be, got refills for meds.

Stopped by pharmacy on way in and picked up a prescription for The Woman.

By the time I was finished with the appointment, I had gotten pretty hungry so I drove on up to Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips in the Falls and ordered the 5 piece, fish only.

Had I been thinking ahead, I would have placed that Menards order at the Cuyahoga Falls location rather than Kent ... would have made for less driving ... 🤬

Anyways I headed over to Menards in Kent after that and picked critter food order and then headed on back home. Need to unload that out of the car.

(I had consumed 2 pieces by the time I made it to Kent, ate another one before I left Menards parking lot, and then polished off the last 2 when I got home ... was powerful hungry ...)

Watered what was left in the tomato and pepper seedling trays before I hit the rack.

Agenda for today:

Check plants on shelves out back to see if they need watered. Probably do, since they are now under the roof overhang and aren't getting rained on.

Get the remesh panels hauled around back to the garden area, maybe get a couple of them put up if it isn't too muddy.

Maybe continue disassembly on back deck. Should be a decent day to do that, given the cool temps and the breeze.

Will be glad to have that gone, as it had gotten to be quite the hazard:

Plus see what other mischief I can find to get into ... ;)

Hope everyone is having a decent Friday ... (y)

fix that porch before you have the neighborhood dance party over RS...

Burpee order showed up, got them watered, sitting in windowsill, raining pretty good out now
though a gentle soaking rain which we needed.

friend coming over to drop in a little while with my favorite carrot muffins she makes, will trade her for a gallon baggie of just picked
romaine and bibb lettuce. She loves salads and I have too much of it.

one of our own Mike got squashed and died under an implement Scootr.
safety stands, belt and suspenders, never trust a single point of failure
a nervous topic here

I wish, no this is likely something more
going through ton of tests, will see what they say
Prayers Drew.
56 outside this AM, grey, wet, more rain later, heading to lower 60's.

Got all my errands run since I had the vehicle yesterday. Sometimes I miss not having more than one, other times, not so much. I think we have adjusted accordingly.
I have a fleet of jalopys if you ever need to borrow one...

Cuteness. I'm sure she will have a good home. Oh the work raising another pup, but the joys overcome the work, especially when they get trained and bigger. I'm a firm believer in every ounce of training pays off in pounds later.

We had a hailstorm last night for about 10 minutes. Golf ball and a few bigger. I had got all my jalopys under cover.
Cooler today 73F this morning.

Friend from South Africa called and said he and wifey took the citizenship test and passed. Will become citizens of USA in a couple of weeks at ceremony.

He also said the price of weed and feed dry bulk fertilizer was about $700/ton. Ouch. It goes up with the price of fuel.

Bupps, prayers. Tough situation.

LS, I hope things are better as far as you can handle them.

Ron, beautiful pic.

RNG, It may be that RM43 is persona non grata in Ca. It's hard on their green hairdos maybe.
