What did you buy this week?

I’ve kicked around buying some kind of water softener setup for car washes but I’m trying it without. I bought a TDS meter and tried it in my house which has a softener. The water showed a higher reading after the softener than the raw water coming in the house. I actually almost called the softener company but then I read online where that’s normal. The softener removes the “undesirable “ hardness but doesn’t lower the TDS. The water is better as far as spotting goes with the rural water we have now than the well water we used to have.
Our well water is high in calcium and lime. At least the sprinklers don't stain the house orange as with iron.

I tried out the foam cannon today. A couple of reason I bought this. The first is cost, car washes here keep jacking up prices. The second is the quality of the wash. Just an estimate but I’m probably saving about $5 every time I wash at home. I’m hoping water spots don’t become an issue. My wife’s car is pretty forgiving being silver, we will see how it does with black paint.

What I ended up doing (lazy) was buying some $1 gallon jugs of distilled water and I just slop one of those around after am done washing. Then I get out the leaf blower 🤣🤣🤣 for a quick blow job (no pun intended) and voila, done..

Car washing here is regular (town-supplied) tap water. Wet vehicle, spray on 50/50 mix of water and car wash soap, go over the whole thing with a soft brush, rinse and chamois. Takes only minutes. No spots.

Sometimes straight purple cleaner sprayed on tires & wheels and a stiffer brush.

I have a soap cannon, works great. Mine goes on the pressure washer.
I also built a filter for a spot free rinse. A 4" x 20" water softener cartridge, then a 4" x 20" deionizing cartridge.
I get water spots from my water like crazy, especially on windows is not cleaned right away. Can you explain how you hooked your cartridges up to a garden hose or pressure washer set up? Thanks

I don't use it for the pressure washer. It's kind of a stand alone system. Water piped to it, then a designated hose for the D.I. water. Two cartridges piped together and hung on the wall.

Ok, I figured it was probably just for a hose rinse off which makes sense. I guess my main question is... What cartridges did you use to connect to a garden hose? Or do you have it set up coming from well water to an outside bib then just connect your hose like normal? I'm trying to picture this in my head and can't get a good grasp on it...

It's hung on the wall in my garage. Hooked up to a hose connection with a 1 gpm flow restrictor, then to a hose connection with a hose and nozzle
