Interesting day
Can’t explain how or why, but Sophie’s Scag started and ran a bit. Have it on battery charger and have cranked it every now and then . One day I kinda over cranked it and it coughed a bit. Shocked. Did again today while playing with choke and it started. Played with throttle until it stalled. There’s hope.
Main project was Sophie’s Craftsman mower. She had busted both frame members just behind the front axel. If only I was a decent welder. Today I fabricated 2 mending plates, 6x3x 1/4 steel plate. I will be able to mount using 3 existing bolt holes and drill a 4th. Likely be stronger than original. I don’t have the tools or metal skills of many here, but I think I’ve got a structurally sound fix even if not pretty. I should be able to weld it if necessary.
Will get that finished tomorrow. Will post pics.
Here’s a pic of broken area.
Other side is broken same way. Kinda affects the steering.
