Is that the total delivered cost per kwh or just the so called electrical cost portion of the bill.
My $0.18 to $0.20 per kwh is the actual delivered cost while the so called electrical amount is listed as $0.06 or $0.08 per kwh.

That is the delivered final cost plus $19 per month fixed fee.
Neither are taxed by the state or locals.

If I had to pay California PGE rates in WA my only choice would be to pull the meter…

California 360 kWh per MONTH at about $180 include city taxes and fees…

My only comment is, whatever you get, be sure to drain it regularly. We have an electric in the basement but no issue with power as we have a diesel standby genset. It gets sediment drained monthly and has been going strong for 5 years on high calcium well water and our utility gives us a break on the electricity usage as well. No tankless crap here, never will be.

This is the convoluted bill that I get to see; which is $0.1842 per kwh

Interesting how forever it was the massive costs of generating power took a backseat as more customers began generating their own grid tied power making the most expensive part now being delivery...

I don't know if it was the grid tied systems, it seems to me that it make quite the shift in "costs" when the PUC and other regulators decided that the utility companies had to split and divest of some power plants and that consumers could buy from other "suppliers".

PGE justified rates for decades touting the high cost of building power generation… hydro, nuclear, geothermal and operating restraints on natural gas and coal fired plants.

Distribution was seldom even a footnote and many utility poles date from the 1920’s in my neighborhoods.

Some in positions of influence heard PGE and said we can help by diversifying production and opening up the sources to a single home owner scaling up to Green providers with large scale production.

Well, one of my 18 yo water heaters bit the dust a few weeks ago. I decided to replace both plus recirculating pump. NO ONE IN TOWN, including wholesale houses, carry any direct vent waterheaters that work on propane. They all had nat gas units. Most were wanting over $2000 per u it with 2 week delivery times. Home depot was able to get me 2 units in 7 days for about $1300 each. But still, what happens to people that only have 1 water heater? Who’s going to wait 2 weeks for hot water. And rural folk dont have access to nat gas.

Any rate, i also had to replace expansion tank as the bladder had ruptured on mine. The recirculating pump was also 18 years so i replaced that at same time.

I removed and resused the coro protect electronic anodes i purchased in january of this year, and i pulled the junk drain valves on the new units and installed the full flow drains i purchased.

All is well again.

At the cabin with propane I bought a spare and kept it 19 years in the box and was a quick swap when the original let go.

Part of it is the comfort knowing I have options...
