You Know You Are Old When

Still have a ‘75 H2 750 triple. But my wife won’t let me drive it.
I recall sitting on the back of a 500 triple, facing backwards, chest against the sissy bar, while my friend did a wheely then hit 135. Good times...

🙃

My first motorcycle was a 1974 Suzuki GT185. Two stroke.

Drove it to college every day for a year.

The next year I “upgraded” to a 1968 Honda CL350. Boy did I think that was fast v the Suzuki!

My first one was a Honda 305 super sport. Rode it from DC to Key West before I was drafted for Vietnam.

My first was a '69 or '70 Suzuki 250. Drove it to college about 15 miles MOST days. This was UVM and Burlington, Vt so snow was a hindrance. It was totalled when a lady pulled out from stop sign and crushed my ankle between her bumper and my engine casing.
"Upgraded" to a '59 Harley FLH 1200. Boy it was slow compared to the Suzuki. But stable. This became a restore project when it started leaking oil.

...when you had to go out and turn the TV antenna pole until dad yelled "that's good!"
Yep. My dad had a pipe wrench permanently gripping the antenna pole. Boy he would snap at me if I went too far.😆

First Dirt bike was a Maaco 350 works, followed by a Yamaha 250 and a Honda 450 4 stroke.
First road bike was a Honda 350 then a Motto Guzzi Eldorado followed by a Road King. I miss those now.

When my mom turned 50, she got tired of sitting in the back seat of a Harley, and bought herself a Honda 350-4.

That surprised everyone.

I always thought those were good looking bikes! When I was a lifeguard, 4 of us all bought bikes one year. I got the 77RD400, one had the Kow 500 triple, one had a 2 cylinder 4 stroke (can't remember which) and one had the Honda 350-4.

After the homemade 3.5 HP Clinton minibike came the Honda 175CB... drove it for years and then handed it down...

I kept it showroom, even polishing the spokes with shoelaces.

Sad to say it's seen better days...
