Me, I'll stick with my used (10 year old) F2880 diesel mower and it has no belts either, all drive shaft. Very frugal on diesel as well, in fact I've mowed the yard and the road berms 2 times and used less that 1/4 tank plus the 2880 has a fabricated and welded deck. Tank capacity is 5.1 gallons of off road diesel. I mowed the berms and they were at least a foot high and only took one pass.

I'm having a lot of trouble understanding what any of this has to do with the title of this thread.

Yeah, we all love our old gas mowers. I also love Italian sausage sandwiches with sauce and onions, which is about as relevant.

Relevant in the fact that I'd never own a Chinese made electric mower. The way it's going, pretty soon we will all be eating raw fish with chopsticks. I don't 'love' any equipment, never have. It's all there to perform a task and that's it.

I've NEVER CLAIMED that HF tools were the best and I'd like you to post that up so I can read it. That don't exist and you know it.

What I've said in the past is that for the money, the HF lines excluding the Chicago Electric line are a good value for the dollars spent.

I challenge you to post up where I said they were the best because I never have. Kind of like you and your Tesla fettish in a way.

Still waiting and all I hear are crickets. How about it Arly? Lets see that post not that you can find one because unlike your Tesla posts, it don't exist.

One thing I will say about cordless tools and this electric lawnmower and that simply is, do any of you take into account where the raw materials are coming from to make those batteries? Last time I checked, the minerals were being mined with Chinese slave labor. Bet that makes you feel whole and good.

That's Japanese... and if they were taking over, it'd have happened in the 1980's.

I also prefer Made in America. If an American company were making a product of equal construction at a similar price, I'll always buy it... but I rarely get that opportunity.

I fully understand but I still prefer Japanese made over Chinese made. I wonder where the John Deere mowers are made, especially the ones with the front mount driveshaft decks.

Don't care if you want to chat about it or not actually. Like your Tesla thread where you continuously expound the virtues of Tesla. I don't find them at all worth expounding about.

Last time I checked, this is a public (membership required forum) and as such, both you and I can post about anything that trips our triggers.

Your original thread title was about a review of the EGO mower. I've yet to see ANY comprehensive review.

One thing I will say about that mower and that is, you better keep the underside of that light gage stamped steel deck clean when over wintering it or it will rust out real quick. Grass, especially old damp and compacted grass is acidic in nature and will corrode that deck real quick if not cleaned off and sprayed with something like Fluid Film before putting it up. Too bad it don't have a heavy gage welded up deck but then that would cost appreciably more, make it even heavier as well.
