Beautiful morning Drew, 50° now the dew point is only 45° , makes the coffee taste really great while sitting in the garden! It’s been busy but just the usual mundane spring chores, garden, mowing, trimming etc. Just got started planting last week, I did get a fence put up around the main garden area to keep the critters at bay. Got help from my neighbor putting that up, he owed me for spreading 18 yds of loam with the BX and helping rake, seed, roll and spread straw. I need to find some more projects to get back to even! Just kidding it’s nice to have good neighbors

After finishing the hill, made one round to the back of the property. Took 18 minutes to mow 1 pass back to the house from back there. Being a quarter section, it’s 1/2 mile if straight, so probably 3/4 mile mowing to get back. Grass is really thick, so have to go very slow. My drone lost signal at this point from the house, I had to bring it back.

63 outside right now, heading to mid 80's.

Managed some catch up maintenance and care on vehicle and equipment yesterday. Also got in a few hours of work on the Milk House. LOL. Yeah...back burner project winner. Was going to make a road trip to Dad's place today. Think I'll pass. Have other road trips starting Tuesday that we are not looking forward too.

Think I'll get started with going shopping for pool supplies and food stock later today. That's better than cleaning out stuff from the parents for sure.

Weather looks to be dry for a while. Some plants already showing heat stress due to temp and lack of rain. I recall noting I'd be complaining about this when we were being monsooned every other day a few months ago.

Headed to 83F but with a Red Flag Warning for wind and wildfire danger.

Still thinking of the Shasta Dam engineering and historic marvel I recently visited. It was built pre-and-during WWII, a huge engineering achievement and impressive large project.

A plaque affixed to the dam says a lot using only a few words: "Built by and for the people of the United States."

There is a great group of dads here. And many who are really special, having helped raise kids who are not their own.

Trying to get ready for church. Gonna try to go to 2 services this morning. Both pastors are friends.

Went to the local racetrack last night. Had a good time. Last cool night for a while.

Friend was racing and didn't go well for him. On his qualifying run, he came out of turn 3 and lost oil pressure, before he could shut it down he put a couple holes in his oil pan. Expensive lap for him.

Gonna be a hot week. Mid 90's and heat index pushing triple digits. August weather in june

lots of fun at local high school cars and coffee. This is school I went to, don't recognize it now, about four times the size.
wonderful collection of cars from a Rolls Royce to a Citroen DS to many, many Corvettes. Lots of muscle cars, and wonderful
weather for this. Yes the red truck is my nephew's son's truck.

Morning all, 69 going up 83 and sunny.
Happy fathers day!
Spent about 4 hours yesterday removing silt from trench.
First had to remove the grass, and found many more rocks (no surprise there).

Dad still can't use his arms, and can't walk, so progress is slow.

Out to dinner tonight. Might try to get propane, diesel and gas cans filled. See if I need to take out a loan to do so....

You might enjoy watching the taming of the Black Canyon that turned into the Hoover dam. My old company Bechtel changed from being a local San Fransisco construction company into a major engineering construction company

Good morning! Low of 56°, heading to a high of 93°. Sunny and light breezes. Hopefully the last day of 90+ for a few days. Another chance of rain next Thursday....

Didn't get anything done yesterday that I planned... got hit with a GI issue that lasted most of the day. Might try again today.
It's irrigation day, so will be managing that for sure.

Fritz, those videos are impressive. Always amazed at how much labor was involved back then. Hard labor to boot!

Ken, nice job on the drainage cleaning. Do you replant grass? Wonder if making a dry river bed with rock would last longer? Would be a pain to clean out if it filled up with silt though....
