Kubota B7800
Hi folks! Working with my grandfather on his newly acquired, low hour Kubota b7800 he bought to replace an older 541 case that was hard to get on and off of. We put a 5' rotary cutter on the Kubota. What we have found is that when you lower the mower it goes down until skids on the front drag on the ground. On the old case we could set a stop for the lever that would keep the mower around 4 inches.

I tried to set the stop on the lever of the kubota but it will not keep the mower stopping at the same height every time. Even with the stop moved almost the whole way up it still allows the mower to sit on the ground (just takes a while to get there). I have adjusted the speed of the three point using the valve under the seat which helps make it easier to control but did not produce the desired results. Doing some reading I found that Kubota made machines with either the quarter inching valve or position control but not both. Would position control be what I am after?

I appreciate any insight on this issue!

the b7800 has a quarter inching valve not position control so there is no way to set the height consistently the same using a stop on the lever.

That is what I suspected, thanks for confirming.

Update for anyone in the future that may need an answer. I put a set of check chains on and was able to get it mowing at a set level. I used a cheap set off of amazon. Two slotted brackets allow easy removal of the chains from the tractor when disconnecting the mower. The other end of the chains are welded to tabs that I bolted to onto the mower at the three point mounts.
