Good morning!!!!

I'm sitting here totally wasted, hot shower helped, but three hours of working outside this afternoon in this heat with Ken
left us both totally wilted. Storm door is on, all went on fine, glad that job is done and hugely thankful for Ken's help.

one strange thing happened. I took the old door off and laid it on lawn. Went back and hour later and why is the lawn so brown?........
geez, science experiment, sun came through glass door and absolutely cooked the lawn underneath, baked it brown.
I soaked it with water and moved the door. Nice two by three foot brown spot on front lawn now.
tomorrow morning I will get a step stool out and do some caulking around the edges of door.

Good afternoon.... the weather guessers were wrong.... only supposed to be 84°.... we are at 91°. They also didn't mention the wind today either.
Now they moved the "70's" to Thursday and Friday. Very good chances for some rain, so I guess I can bear with a little heat.

The fire down in Ruidoso blew up within a half hour. Interviews with evacuees said they didn't have any time.... police driving on the roads telling people over the loudspeaker "get out NOW! ".....
Over 500 structures burned already. Not going to end well at all.

GD is doing well, just minor discomfort at the incision sites. She is actually going to her HS band camp tonight. She'll be able to sit for practice, no marching for a few more weeks.

Now, we are being infested by these bugs!
They are harmless, just a nuisance! There are so many, the ground looks like it's moving ---- sort of a bad acid trip....
Good news is they only stay for a few days....
Happens every 5 years or so.... just strange!

RS, why don't you switch to drip irrigation vs. soaker hoses? Drip will put water precisely on the plants and will use FAR LESS water. When we were on a well, drip irrigation was the only way we could get the entire garden watered without running the pump dry! (100' x 300'). The way you lay out the spacing in your garden, it would be very easy to do! Drippers range from 1/2 gal to 4 gal/hr, so the amount can be adjusted specifically for the plant.

After installing drip irrigation and seeing the results... I threw out the soaker hoses! At this time, I probably have around 800-1000 ft of drip lines for the landscaping.

Everyone have a great evening!

Good evening all. 75ºF for the start, overcast, breezy. Windy, partial clearing of sky, and high temp was 90ºF, HI 96ºF. Made coffee to start day, Grief Share, bike ride chain lube and front derailleur adjustments worked. Got trust account funded. got nap, change plan from grilled brats to taco-dillas, they were good. Finished bill paying.

I spent 1/2 hour outside while Junior was in town. Temperature in the sun where I was sitting was 105°F. Later it will be quite humid.
That should melt the rest of the snow off...

Good morning! Low of 56°, heading to 88°. Sunny, light breezes.

LFN, wow, same temps here in the high desert as you in the great north! I'm sure you are a lot greener and have a lot more trees.....

BIL returned to port in San Francisco Bay this morning. He enjoyed the trip immensely.

Daughter called late yesterday afternoon.... GD had bad abdominal pain. Yep... appendicitis. Surgery was done around 18:00, successful recovery. Should be home later today. Always something.....

Still didn't get the yards mowed. Heading out shortly to get done today. Then another PT session this afternoon. Not sure if its doing any good. Half way through the prescribed amount of sessions.

Everyone have a great day!
Glad to hear GD is healing at home!

Any problems here? Other than no oil and gears stripped. View attachment 876123
OUCH! might put some new seals in while you're in there....ya' think?
Or you could turn it into a coffee grinder for Billy?

Thanks for helping Drew, Ken. I saw some pics from afterwards of the George Strait concert, and they had put plywood or something down on the grass field. The heat of the day/days had really hurt it, turning it yellow.

Off tomorrow, don't wake me up early Wags. :)

Don, glad you got the water saga fixed. You bought a flipper? Already getting offers.....

Juneteenth tomorrow. Off.

Have a million things to do around here....and they're saying we are going to get plenty of the tropical storm rain....just not sure how much. The pastures are full of weeds, mainly johnson grass.

Plowhog, it is tough raising a puppy.

And another scene that gets played often....it sure isn't fair to an established older dog, to introduce a puppy if the older dog wants to take a nap. Using the older dog for your puppy sitter is not a good thing. It would be kind to separate them if you can. My friend's pup got his muzzle permanently scarred from trying to bother the old dog.

Prayers for the team.
