If it was in SC it would be dead without the herbicide. No rain all month.

Today's job was finding some corners and cutting out a property line and cleaning a path big enough around some existing fence lines for the owners to access, all skid steer work in the A/C, glad of it they had heat warnings today, said it feels like 110 degrees.

It has been mighty dry here to, all of my cow pastures are brown , so I have been feeding hay and I moved the cows into a field I had drilled in tif quick bahia a couple of months ago that have been taken over by crabgrass so they are loving life, we did finally get 1" of rain last night, and it was much appreciated as we have been praying for it.

Seems like a lot of people lose control of their fence lines.

Yep alot of people buy farms when the older generation of owners pass away and their children have no interest in farming or a farm in general and things just seem to slip away and after a couple of years it's beyond what most people want to mess with or have the equipment to tackle the job, either way it's work for me and I get a lot of these projects.

Few (maybe 30-50) miles north or north east of you; we still have a huge deficit in rain; But we got maybe 0.3 Saturday and 0.75" Monday. Almost enough to grow grass...

Yeah, we are still dry, but not as bad as some, luck of the draw or either some are just living right. 😆

You have no idea. We had clean fence lines and field edges. I quit/left the farm in 2006 and gradually returned to taking back all the ground from 2014-2018. By the time I had returned fences were grown up field edges had creeped in because nobody cares anymore. Have spent years working on getting everything back to where they belong. There are places I am missing 18-27' of field edge because they have grown in. Have removed all the brush from fence lines taken the loader and pulled in years of plowed out dirt that people kept rolling into the fences/brush. It doesn't take long when you don't care. But it is alot to bring it back. I have several more years of work left to do. Once caught up it's easy, until then...............

I will try to remember this post and post pictures when I have time.
