Letting first cup of coffee cool. 69° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 84° with cloudy skies in afternoon. Grocery shopping went well. A lot more people at stores than usual. But very courteous. They must have been there for same reason I go at 8 am. No crowds. Foot Dr visit went well. No major problems found in X-ray and Ultra Sound views. Dr gave an injection shot in pain area. Get to go back again next week. Parade in morning, Then picnic at neighbors.

Happy Birthday America!
I have mentioned before that I always read the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights on Independence Day and a little about the founding fathers.
Here's a tidbit about Thomas Jefferson...many know of him as a farmer and inventor, too...well here's two things I found interesting:
- he is credited with introducing macaroni to the US...even invented a macaroni machine to make pasta.
- he improved the moldboard plow to work specifically on hillsides.

Happy Independence day!
63 here going to a humid and possible rainy 80.
Was able to put the stump bucket on the tractor and do a little digging yesterday. Welcome our little Japanese maple to the yard.
We've been looking for one that can survive our winters for a while. This one is good to minus 20. Best part was it was on sale for 70 bucks instead of the usual 300 and up here!
Wife's lily plant is starting to pop.
We will be laying low today and will just take the day as it comes. Did spend some time in the shop but only finished one quick project I made as a gift for my wife's visiting cousin. They lived in Maine next to a lighthouse and moved to California.
Supposed to meet up with the flooring guy to pick out the colors at for the apartment. He says he might come over today or tomorrow. Wants to start by the end of the month. Ok by me.

good morning all and happy July 4th.
going to be hot and humid here today, with storms after dinner.
I have absolutely nothing planned for today other than chilling out.
headed out early to work in garden while it's cool, I'm sure there are cukes hiding from
me in there. And I see a few yellow squash coming in.
July 4th was my Mother's birthday and my family has long fun history with July 4th.
I usually was in charge of a fireworks display. We would set them up on the farm wagon in the far front lawn and
shoot them out over the fields. It only took setting the fields on fire once for us to be a lot more careful about dry weather, and having
buckets of water at the ready.
I have a pack of sparklers, and will do my thing when it gets dark.
Always a good day to watch the movie Independence Day
Phil, water that new tree often in summer heat. My pussywillow almost died on me while I was in NC, ground so dry it sucked up all
the watering I did. Not sure it will make it.

I’ll echo the Happy Birthday America!
63° now highs in the mid 80’s today, winds SW 5-10 dew point 54° headed to the upper 60’s low 70’s by evening.
Went out and watered the garden earlier and didn’t see any bunny activity

The Mrs and I celebrate 44 yrs together today. When we got married we got the super deluxe wedding package at the JP’s for $55 which included 2 Polaroid pictures and one of those tiny bottles of champagne. We still laugh about it! The JP asked us the “standard” What brought you two here today? My reply was “that red dodge pickup parked over there” that sort of set the casual tone for the rest of the event lol.
The only plans for today are some steaks, a bottle wine and the best company I can imagine.

64F mostly cloudy day mid 80's for high.
Outside chores done E muffin time.
8-10pm 2 bears,3 deer,2 gray fox,2 raccoons stroll by while sitting on the deck last evening,watching their ways etc. were interesting.
Plans for today...take trimmer for walk may mow area.

We actually had a few blueberries ripen up but mostly still all green ! Looks like a good year for blue berries !
