Thomas, I sweat through my sweat band and then the eyes started to sting today.
then I was constantly mopping myself
I looked in mirror when I came inside and had red rings around my eyes, which I get when face gets
flushed from overheating. Body is trying to cool off I guess by flushing and getting more blood
closer to skin to cool off???

only time I ever saw red ringed eyes like that was a highly memorable day for me
and not in a good way.
I've told this story here before, of being sent to a pain clinic in Greenville NC for an epidural on my neck and they sent me to the
wrong place. It was a methadone clinic or something like that.
Most of the women in room with kids were tapping their feet on the floor and I'll never forget those red eyes.
Not the pupil, the area around the eyes. One older man was mumbling to himself and jerking around.
It was pretty awful to watch and it dawned on me finally why I was not being helped on time. I went up to the counter and
asked if they were sure I was in the right place. I did not get an intelligent answer so I just left.
After some pointed calls I got an appt at the right ortho place that also did pain mgmt.

20 years after I left, my second wife's youngest son OD'd on fentanyl. His older brother fought addiction for 30 years.
opioids are bad news long term.
I saw all the fentanyl my dying last wife had to take, am glad they make the drug.
when I boxed up all the drugs after my wife passed, I dutifully turned it all into the nursing home.
keeping fentanyl at home is like storing explosives or a loaded gun

just plain hot out today with the humidity making it unpleasant and a little hard to breathe

nice to hear from you DFTodd

Good Afternoon,

Dennis, stackable washer and dryer acting up ! Had to break the safety latch on the washer to get the clothes out !
Really don’t need that silly lick anyway!

Finally finished up those white oak saw horses ! Actually will pull the legs off and and router a radius on all the edges before glue up ! This wood was destined for the wood stove so I’m happy I could find some use for it before that happened!

Have a cooler evening !!

Too nice for the wood stove. 🤙

Generator fix was easy. A bit of investigation revealed it had been wired for autostart, but neighbor didn’t have any instructions. A challenge when someone assembles units from 3 different manufactures not counting the major, non factory mode to generator itself. Able to get it sorted out and running as it should.
Neighbor happy as he has been running manually over 2 years.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of -1.7C... which is what it presently is but the sun is rising now so the predicted High will be around 13C. Once again, it's clear & calm & frosty.

This 'cold snap' is a result of a big 'High' that's parked itself over Tassie. Apparently it'll finally move off tomorrow.

As per usual, I'm off to Church in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

Evening all;
Have a question for you guys that I will see tomorrow morning.
My wife is wanting to get a new vehicle we have been test driving some the last few days currently the two top candidates are the Chevy Equinox and the Nissan Murano both of which are in the upper trim levels with the Nissan actually leading at this time. Any body have much experience with these vehicles?

Thanks Lou

We inherited an older Nissan Murano that was a fix or repair weekly car at 125k, got rid of it but not before many $1200 repairs, Ugh.
My experience may not reflect what your experience will be. GL

Lou, I have 2 Equinox as fleet vehicles. One has not been that bad but the other one has had several repairs done. One of which was a misdiagnosis from a mechanic that thought the turbo needed replaced. I brought it back to our office and found a bad gasket from turbo to the intake. Had I not overheard the conversation my fleet guy was going to approve the turbo replacement.

Both of these are in heavy traffic in Dallas Fort Worth metroplex so lots of stop and starts. Most of my fleet is F150 trucks and we do not have as many issues as with these cars.

I always believed Nissan to be better quality but do not have real world experience with the Murano.

Had a busy day today. The front of our property by the street is covered up with vines, saplings, and briers.

We've been wanting to clear it out. So over the past couple days I've widdled it down.

Easy way I found to clear it was to back the tractor up to it, toss a chain through the mess. Wrap the chain around it and cinch it tight so I could reach the saplings with the chain saw. Then drag the mess out.

Used the pallet forks to haul the mess to the burn pile.
