Sure enough there was a leak on the mini split system. The technician was not equipped to find the leak but did charge it up.

It’s a safe bet it is a flare fitting on the line set. Mix up some soapy water with dish soap and wet the connections down. My guess is that you’ll see some bubbles.

Good morning! Low was 52°, going up to 87°. Good chance (50%) of a t-storm. Yep -- heard that before.....
Last night I got my hopes up, good lightning show, the storm came close, but no rain. Glad I ran the irrigation yesterday.

3 of the 4 chicks have fledged the nest. Mama bird is still feeding, but those 3 are scattered all around the backyard, and keep moving. The #4 chick was hatched 3 days after the others, he looks around wondering where everyone went off too.....

Another few days and I'll remove the nest after he fledges. It was really entertaining to watch them feed and grow. A bunch of other fledged babies still begging parents around the feeders. I guess we provided a nice habitat for them in the desert.

Removal of that cholla cactus will take place shortly. That's probably all that will happen on the home front today. PT evaluation this afternoon . It will be interesting to hear what they have to say.

We've had a string of 100+ degree afternoons this week. Last couple afternoons the official high per the National Weather Service was 107 degrees.

Official Hi-Lo for the nearest town for yesterday...54 degrees difference between morning and afternoon so I'm always up at 4:30, do what needs doing, and be back in the house where it is cool, by 10.

But my thermometer - in the shade of my porch - had my "official" high temperature a little above what the National Weather Service recorded:

Thanks, did not see any leaks on the two condenser flare fittings. The two upstairs ones are buried in a thick brick wall and not easy to access

68°F and .32 inches rain almost all since midnight and still raining.

Couldn’t mow in morning too wet, but did get haircuts. Got about half my Hilo mowing done and had hope to finish today but too wet and likely not dry out until late afternoon at best.

Friends coming over mid afternoon to throw some Kalbi pork on the Primo.

Planning our Ireland adventure for March as our Canadian friends will be in residence at the Cottage and will look after the house and furry kids. This tour will be something of a splurge vs like Dennis just rent a car and go. Someone told Sophie recently that if we don’t treat ourselves while we can then those that inherit will but without the appreciation. Thought provoking.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
Yes, do it while you can, very thought provoking. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to go on a trip where I didn't have to do any of the work, just get on the bus when it's time, hotel is taken care of, etc. The tour group can do the flight part also, including airport pickups.

I did all the planning, hotel and airline reservations, driving for the hawaii trip. Well, David did make some nice suggestions, including a nice hotel in Hilo. We really enjoyed the stay there. And on Oahu, enjoyed staying on the North shore. I would have hated it if we had stayed in Honolulu, just to save a few bucks.

Nice day today, high only in mid 80s.
Got hair cut, lunch at mission BBQ. But found a long hair in the brisket, so dumped the rest....
Did the costco run, it wasn't a zoo as usual.
Dumped 5 gal of used oil at the recycle center. Guy came over to check, good thing i didn't exceed the 5 gal at a time limit. I still have a dozen or so gallons to take. Sometimes I take more and keep dumping if no one around.

Got home and discovered the 10# bag of sugar had opened and dumped a bunch on my back seat, so had to clean that up, saved as much as I could in a baggie for hummingbird water, vacuumed up the rest. Got the floors also, they needed it.

Mail came as I was doing that, got 3 amazon deliveries. One being a cheap Anemometer. Went around and took some air readings downstairs. With the cooler weather today, the upstairs unit was actually off, so havent taken them yet. wish the back light would stay lit longer, I'm trying to get an average over a period of time, and the light turns off and I can't read the display. Now the big obstacle is finding K values for the vents, as that is required to get accurate CFM number. Most vents are 3.5 x 9.5. If I can't find i'll assume around .7

hope we get rain.
