About a decade ago I was shopping for a 3/4 ton that would comfortably haul a camper. One salesman said "Fuggitaboutit, buy a Corvette, enjoy the roads, and sleep comfortably in motels."

Believe it or not, some of us like to camp. Almost impossible to have a campfire at a motel and our bed in our rv is the same bed as our house.

20 years ago we started looking at small trailers to tow behind my touring bike to haul overnight gear.
We then realized that a good night's sleep in a motel makes the long day ride MUCH more enjoyable. Less crabby too!

We pulled a camper with our Goldwing and slept perfect. I don’t know why so many are against camping? Some of us enjoy camping. Pulled this camper about 100,000 miles

It's always entertaining to watch drunk boaters at the boat ramp, late Sunday afternoon.

Spent a lot of time at the Surf City municipal boat ramp on Long Beach Island New Jersey as a kid and teen in the 1980's, among a few other NJ and PA ramps. Got to see more than one vehicle with trailer roll straight out into the bay, in addition to one boat cut completely in half by another.

Congratulations, YOU beat the odds. By your reasoning, there should be no seat belts, no airbags, meat with green slime on it should be for sale, sewage should go straight into the water system, every room should be full of cigarette smoke, etc., because the millions of people who think like you, died, but you didn't, so it's all ok.

And the most egregious personal violation of all. Thinking you should securely tie your tractor the trailer.

Yes. This was a huge issue in Pennsylvania, maybe 15 or 20 years ago, when the helmet law was voted down.

I can totally understand the gripe against helmet laws, people should be free to do what they want. But at the same time, I really question the sanity of anyone who actually exercises that right.

As soon as you get collective healthcare, it becomes everybody elses business, what risk of injury you take.

As a European, having payd 20 years worth of revenue into a social benefit system, and now its the question whether i get a human or a **** as medical specialist to decide over my disability allowance, which means i am unsure if i get return on investment now i need it, i do sometimes wish i had 20 years of social security payments into my own savings account...

Although, speaking from experience from a bicycle accident, if you take a hit with a motorcycle without a helmet, you save health insurance pay because youre probably dead. Saving 20 grand a year in disability nursing, just 6 grand for a funeral

That's a great point, and a good answer for @steve tym's concern about the lack of helmet laws costing taxpayers more money. You might argue it actually saves taxpayers money, by increasing the likelihood of death (rather than paralysis), among those in motorcycle accidents.
