good morning all
warm and sticky out, light drizzle out, cloudy and high of 83

have some errands to run downtown this morning but want to pick up some chocolates for friend's wife's birthday, am told
dark chocolate pecans are her favorite, we have a nice chocolate/candy shop in town. Fun to go in there, when he first opened up almost 40
years ago I wrote his insurance. He sold that business, got bored, and started another chocolate store. I don't think it's anything particularly fancy or unique but at least it's local and fresh. I'm taking two boxes of his chocolate out to California on my big trip, will be kept frozen which he said was fine.
His kids and my sisters two boys went to same local school, so since he knows her sons, he will put something extra in the boxes for their two families.

local pharmacy said since Wegovy is not available, sold out due to incredible demand, his pharmacy and other compounding pharmacies are
authorized to make it themselves. I asked where the ingredients come from and he said the same US place the other pills come from. Ok.
So he fills up the four syringes for my weekly shot and it costs me 70 dollars a shot, not 200 dollars a shot.
He told me 15 percent get nausea but otherwise it seems to work.
I just had to order an XXL shirt because my new XL shirt bought for this trip shrunk after washing and was too tight.
very depressing to go up a size, so I have to do this. Will try it for six months and see what happens. I'm told if you stop taking it, the weight
comes back on, which with my daily steroid meds, is very likely.

I simply do not want to be XXL...
C'mon now, XXL isn't too bad. Size 42(W)x34(L) jeans aren't all that bad, either. It gets bad when you need track pants because there aren't any comfortable pants in any other size.

BEF, now that you put it that way.

Good morning! 72˚F heading to the mid 80s with NE wind, cloudy and foggy. Yesterdays rain lasted for 229 minutes and we got .56", enough to fill the pool. Water temp has dropped to 81˚ too cold to swim, my minimum is 83˚F.

Priority today is a haircut for hospice the cat. Then I can start cleaning the fountain one of the low priority projects but challenging because the bottom pool is about 2 feet below grade and these new knees do not like things that low.

Good Morning!!!! 82F @ 5:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 108F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

Opened the diversion valve to let the water softener work yesterday, then plugged in the new valve and programmed it. Needed to call tech support and talked with Issac. Had to pry every word out of him, and when he did say something, he said it so fast I had to ask him to repeat. Fortunately I only had three questions, but it took fifteen minutes. Took way less time to program the valve. It's electronic, replacing a mechanical one that I never really figured out. Sorry I waited so long to upgrade. Now I just need to run the unsoftened water out of the pressure tank. One or two good showers should take care of that. I'd spilled brine on the resin tank when I changed out the valve, and being black, the salt streaks really look bad. Tried to get them off with a damp rag, but the salt had gotten down into the grain of the fiberglass. A wire brush was no help, either, so I'll bring up some plastic cleaner and an old toothbrush on the next trip.

Put a coat of sun shield on the front door and trim. Waited a bit too long and should have taken the time to sand it down and finish with polyurethane. Too hot and too lazy by then.

Kept pecking away at spackling holes in the garage walls. I could last maybe half an hour in the heat out there before I had to come in, but a couple rounds and I had most of them filled. But every time I look I find a few I missed, so another round is on today's agenda.

Got curious about what the shipping container is worth, so called the outfit I got it from and asked for a quote. Took some photos for them and am waiting on a reply. The price of containers has gone up considerably in the five years I've had it, so three's a chance I might break even. I'll try to sell it myself first, but need to find someone that can move it for any potential buyer first. That's just one of a few phone calls I need to make, and with the heat being what it is, today will be a good inside day for it. Just like when some of you take an inside day for rain, snow, or freezing weather.

I think I'll use the cool of this morning, what little there will be, to rearrange the inside of the big van so I can run the generator in there and not have to unload it. I have some concreted fence posts to remove up at the gate and want to use the electric hammer drill to do it, but there's no power up there. Another nasty job, especially with the heat, but somebody's gotta do it to restore curb appeal for the sale.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Have you got a garden hose with a high pressure spray head? Or a pressure washer? Then you could stand up and clean it.

RNG, have you got a portable generator there?

good morning, Rained over night very nice. 75 going to 85 today

Walked Cody early this morning. Nice weather with rain last night and all wet. No watering today

Wife is in better period and getting ambitious with the garden again so that means a trip to get more plants today for me to dig in.

Moved more tree shelters yesterday and stacked them up in an out of way place. Many more are due to come off the trees since the trunk is expanding them.

Have respect for the bees for sure so try to shake the shelters with a stick before grabbing them.

Need to get back to firewood work again but seems like something else always comes up

The mini split with the reduced capacity is keeping up because of cooler weather but the window air unit is back in to help out if needed. Hopefully parts will be in this week

Good morning! Low of 55°, going for a high of 87°. Slight chance (20%) of a t-storm. No precip yesterday.

It was really hazy yesterday, I thought it was humidity..... I guess I had a senior moment.... humidity up here in the high desert? I had to chuckle at myself....
Turns out, it's smoke from fires up in the Pacific NW. coming right down the middle of the country.

Paul, the organization of the hardware is just too much for me to bear...... just kidding... looks great! Keep the pics coming... it's nice to watch the progress!

Dennis, sorry you have to go through all the hassle of replacing the unit. I agree, better to replace with properly sized unit. I wonder if the basement pipe issue is the cause of failure or an affect of the problem you found?

Scott, the bunks and curio look great! Have a safe trip back to Vermont. Any progress on the rockers?

RNG, I just watched a local auction for 1 trip containers..... 20' going for $3000-3500. The 40' ones were $4500-5500. Not including transport.
I was contemplating getting 2, spread apart, and roof over the center. Not going to happen at those prices.

Today's agenda: go back to the grocery store to get the very first item on the list.... that was NOT gotten the first trip! There it was, written plain as day..... I even crossed off the other items as I collected them, leaving the missed item clearly visible..... I must have seen a squirrel (or a cougar);)....

Once I get the hinges, I'll finish up the enclosure on the shelf unit. Not sure what, if anything else, I'll get into....

Have a great day!

Basement pipe is independent problem. I'm still a little baffled at that. One solution is to dig a hole in the back yard where the pipes all exit, and pull them back out to where they were originally. 4 of the 5 loops do turn as they exit, so that makes it a little easier.
