good morning all
appears to be cloudy and showers this morning, nothing worthwhile, but should be a little cooler.

I think five truckloads of pine needles would wear any of us out...
it was hard work getting that stuff off my lawn in NC. Plus the needles would dull the mower blades.
some folks actually collected it and sold it for mulch. Or used it as mulch themselves.

Bill, take it slow. How are you feeling? Are you back to "before"?

my only task for today is visiting local water treatment store, see if he will sell me the same acid neutralizer I can get
online, parts only. I'd rather give the business locally, but of course he suggested a six thousand dollar system.
I only want his 1100 dollar parts...
I've been slightly ingesting copper now for three years living here due to acidic water leaching the copper pipes.
My existing filtration system is simply undersized for PH control, so I'm going about ten times larger, from 20 pounds of calcite to
over 200. Will leave sediment and charcoal filters in place.

water here is not good, acidic and hard. Cheesy jet well pump stirs up all the sediment and and I've got orange water coming in.
It all filters out but a nuisance. At least I got landlord to agree to pay for the new commercial filter.
Popgadget in his usual kind manner has offered to help me hook it up, should not be difficult but I'm no PEXer.

speaking of him, hope Popgadget feels better this morning.

End of July. Where did the summer go...

I want to know what Dennis is going to do with all those yummy cantaloupes. They don't store well so I'm guessing he is giving them
away like I do with my tomatoes. Time to find some kids and have a melon party on a hot day.

Bill, take it slow. How are you feeling? Are you back to "before"?
Strength in the right leg isn't what it was "before", neither is stamina. Cannot stand for longer than about 5 minutes.
Other than the fact that I am a truck driver, there is nothing wrong with my brain. The girl in the hospital that checked me out held up both hands with fingers splayed out and asked me how many fingers she had up. I told her 8...the other two are thumbs.
They have a 6x6" block of capital letters with "H"s interspersed throughout, you are supposed to pick out all the "H"s within 5 minutes. I did it in 3 and got them all.
Reflexes are fine.
Left knee giving me all kinds of grief, it is compensating for the weakness in right leg. That knee hasn't been 100% since 1958 when I busted it.
When I went into the hospital I weighed 250 lbs. I'm down to 238 now.
I think I am doing okay, still looking at the green side of the grass. Cut the grass every two weeks or so. Turned the compost pile with the help of my BH.
Waiting for my E-trike to come, I will be more mobile then.
I go and see my family quack on Thursday, will see if he will sign off on my license medical.
I found a way to put snow tires on the trike. 1/2" wide zip ties on all three tires.

Good morning all,
65° now high around 72° and cloudy, supposedly rain and scattered boomers in the afternoon. (and the next few days) Dew points back in the mid/upper 60’s.

Busy days Saturday and yesterday, mowed everything, finished trimming by late afternoon. Should be all set until end of week, hope this doesn’t jinx the rain lol.

No real plans for today, just rest and relaxation. Need to pick some tomatoes and check for hornworms, I think I’m winning. 🤞

Drew, only 55 days until autumn! Summer is going by fast.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy
Those ailing get well soon

Drew good luck with water treatment system, we have acid water as well and have system to neutralize

Sounds like improvement to me L4N

Good Morning,
Ct, 63 to start going to 78 ! Morning showers giving way to partial clearing.

Ron, feel better soon !
Wngsprd, beautiful pics ! Thanks !

Got my grass seed today, the fertilizer should be in tomorrow along with a case of Scotts shop towels.
Bill, I love those boxes of Scott Towels, they seem to last a long time ! Great for oil changes and grease jobs!

Prayers to the people affected by the wild fires in California! 🙏

Not much planned for today, hopefully a long walk after rain let’s up ! Looks like maybe a return trip to Vt on Wednesday morning, but need to return Friday afternoon. We have a concert at the FD scheduled for this coming Saturday, so need to be there for that !

Hope all have a good start to their week !
🙏

Good Morning
67° overcast chance of thunderstorms and a high of 82 forecast.

Yesterday was a slow moving day, I’m not a fireball of ambition. But I did get all the thermostat wires run, the boiler converted to propane, and all the basic programming done.
Today I hope to install the zone controller and wire the thermostats, zone valves and circulator.
My buddy was coming to help me with the ductwork today, he said he would still come and bring a helper as long as I stayed away from them.

Good morning! 79˚F heading to the mid 90s, S wind, summer is back.

Today is picture hanging day, I think it's been long enough that we will not be changing our minds on where they go. So far we have only had to supplement our inventory by buying 3 paintings and 3 vases and a round metal thing I call the satellite dish for the kitchen.

someone stole my husky out of the truck, also Milwaukee hammer drill missing. Guess they needed them more than me.
That is a gracious way to look at it. Thieves are the bottom feeders of society and I wish there was more instant karma for them. Sorry you lost the equipment.

A cool 55F this morning, headed to 90F today.

I tested the motorhome's new 12v compressor/refrigerator by running it solely off the new lithium batteries. After 24 hours, still over 50% charge. Refer was 38F, freezer -4F. Today I will try recharging with the onboard generator. Best guess is maybe 2 hours to top up the batteries. Should be well set up for dry camping now.

Rigby is growing fast-- over 30lbs now. Interesting to see how quickly he grows and see the recent muscle development in shoulders. We have been doing daily training and he knows several commands. He is still biting too much-- but he's a puppy.

Here is his "14 week" picture ... everyone have a great day!

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 94F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday and Sunday were much cooler and I appreciated not cooking while I was working outsiide. By Wednesday it'll be over 100F every day for the rest of the 10-day. Time to head south before that gets here.

Sorry to hear about your saws sprouting legs, Buppies. I have so many keys it's getting hard to hold my pants up. Wouldn't need any of 'em if people stopped stealing. But crime pays, up to $1000 here, at least. They don't even bother to arrest 'em until they steal more than that. And that's why all the expensive stuff at HD is now in locked cages, and there's only one narrow path to get to the cash registers.

That's like the sign on the wall at the auto mechanic, Paul:
Labor Rate - $100/hour
$150/hour if you watch
$200/hour if you help

pumpHousePipes.jpg

Had to take this mess apart yesterday to replace what turned out to be a cracked PVC fitting on the feed line to the pump. Took two tries to get the length right so all the unions would line back up, so spent all day doing it. Turns out all of the threaded PVC fittings were also leaking where they went into iron fittings. So everything went back together with both pipe dope and Teflon tape. And I replaced one piece of threaded PVC pipe with a slip fitting that was threaded on the other end. It was still dry two hours after I turned everything back on, and if it's still dry this morning I'll run the neighbor's pipe wrenches back to him. Didn't have to make any extra trips to the hardware store, but I've got a pile of left over parts to return. What a plumber's nightmare.

With hot weather on the way again, I need to get back to digging out the six concreted post holes up at the gate. Not sure what I brought will do the job, but the only way to find out is to try. Two steps forward, one step back.

Hope everyone's week gets off on the right foot.
