Good morning!!!!

thanks for the explanation
was wondering if I needed to have a timeout for talking too much... ;)
I agree with Buppies, happy to be an invited guest
Talking would be different.
You tend to go into detail writing about your life. At one time that also involved tractors and associated events. But it has always been interesting and informative as you dealt with life and death.
IF Muhammad wants us to limit our discussions to the workings and the buying and selling of tractors he should devise some strict rules and enforce them.
I have yet to be told what makes money for Muhammad, but I'm pretty sure if he "tightened" up the discussions like some boards I've seen many of us will find our time is better spent elsewhere.

Many of us on the GM thread are retires. At 82 I find this place a great place to share my daily and life knowledge, events and happenings. People come and go. They all came to TBN to share and get tractor information. Then found GM thread. It has got to be close to the longest running thread on TBN. Started in 2011. There is always tractor info and talk going on here.
I think my time is well spent here.

Thank God I have an older brother Ron . . .;)

Moved this thread to the front porch forum (off topic) since it's a chat thread. No other change.

Seemed like a reasonable move to me ... Front Porches typically being a place where folks gather and socialize.

Not sure what all the fuss was about (... other than just a reactionary response to change ?) ... the thread wasn't deleted, was still accessible ... ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

So what's the problem ?

I assumed it was a change that aligned with something you were trying to do, in terms of the primary focus of the forum (i.e. "tractors")

I generally use the "Today's Posts" feature to bring up what I want to read ... and since this thread is posted to daily by a number of people, never really had a problem finding it.

That sucks.

Why ?

Keep it where it's been, it's about rural living.

Well, it certainly encompasses rural living ... in that many of the participants live rurally.

Many ... but not all.

But I would say that isn't primarily what it's about for everyone.

Just for a little refresher, Irv's original post that opened the thread:

Just thought I'd start a Good Morning thread. Dry, and headed into the low 60's here in S. Michigan. Have a good one!!

Seems like it was just a way to say hello to fellow TBN members more than anything.

MOVE GOOD MORNING BACK TO RURAL LIVING.

...

For those that don’t know, your marking good posts don’t count in the Front Porch.

Count to who ?

I'm not sure I understand this whole "count"/"doesn't count" thing ...

If I like someone's post it matters ("counts") to me ... in terms of expressing what I thought about that person's post.

If the recipient sees it, it may (or may not) matter ("count") to them.

Either way, I'm good.

The front porch is where anything goes on TBN, usually reserved for political crap threads.

FWIW, after looking at the thread titles in Front Porch, I'm not sure that is actually accurate.

Anyone interested in a private good morning group on Facebook?

No.

Coffee is brewing. 67° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 82° with thunderstorms. Helped neighbors clear a large limb that broke off a tree in his yard. Lubed and checked fluid levels in JD mower. Looking at forecast for today decided to mow back yard grass. If weather guessers are wrong will mow rest of the grass today. No other plans for today.

Good morning all,
66° now highs in the upper 80’s mix of sun and clouds then scattered boomers later today. Dew points staying in the upper 60’s today.

Grocery shopping first thing this morning and maybe some mowing if it dries up enough. Need to clean up a few limbs from yesterday’s boomers. The rest of the day??

Prayers for those dealing with hurricane Debby and all the other crazy weather.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

70 going to 94...better than the 2 days we hit 100 last week. Finally got a t-storm that provided 0.4" of badly needed rain.

Looks like I missed the excitement of getting evicted from Rural Living, and moved back in. 😁 BEF, no f-book here, either. Glad to see Muhammad was responsive to the feedback.

With a little moisture on the ground, was able to get some of the mowing done. Also got some hiking in, of course.

Welcome to a new week!

good morning all
93 and sunny today.
should be a fun day, picking up my brother and driving his new Corvette to lunch.
Not far, but nice long stretch out of his community going up a long hill, where I can floor it.
I'll wait til the traffic clears...
my brother gets a chance to listen and not focus on driving.
I told him we should be able to hit a hundred by top of the hill. His eyes got big...he knows I'm joking
it would only take 10 seconds to 100

good discussion on the thread
I do believe the numbers on this page have disappeared.
I for one disappeared off this list. Ok, really.
And now it's a "reaction" score.
I'm guessing Good Morning scores are simply not reflected here

a "reaction score" sounds like we should be able to say good or bad...
But....we've already learned here to be gentle with each other, GM is a place for
nice people to get along. Perhaps a kind of tractor Cheers bar.

And we even have suspense and intrigue...WHEN will Sodamo's tractor be fixed?

shifting gears
kinda depressed looking at long range weather forecast. Good news is we are still in a mild drought and need the rain.
But geez, the big car show is this weekend. Looks like a washout and I have friends coming in for the event.
Good thing I bought that scrabble board...

not looking good for my niece in Charleston
thankfully her house sits up a little, that city is prone to flooding and they have a storm
surge warning out.
that's a lot of rain forecast this week
if it comes up the coast oh my

Good morning, the low is 66 and going to a high of 73°F. Wind E 6 mph. 40% chance of showers.
Our heatwave is broken, for now.

I'm still waiting for rain to 'water in' the fertilizer I put down last week.

Amazon says my new garden hose should be here tomorrow, if so then I will water in the fertilizer myself.

The E-trike I bought should be here by the 15th, I hope. I just got a new message from the seller, the E-trike wont be here until the 24th. So I am asking for perks, like spare battery, spare charger or upgraded seat. They are advertising themselves as a Canadian company and it only takes 5 days to drive across the country from coast to coast so they get to explain why an item that is 'in stock' is going to take a month to get to the center of the country.

I have been threatening to sharpen the mower blades for a month, maybe I will do that today.

Have a safe day all
