Spreadsheet and price creep hell

I am in such spreadsheet and price creep hell.

68 acres, large amount being wooded, marshy, some old fields.

I want to reclaim the trails I have out there that have 22 years of neglect.

- snowblowing/FEL snow removal
- grading gravel driveway that has had severe pot holes develop
- maintaining that driveway
- brush cutting about 3 to 4 acres. If it can cause your skin to blister, that's what I need to take down.

I want to stay away from subcompacts.

I have been looking at Kioti cx2510, ck2510, tym 2515, and ls mt225he.?
I have a 5' bush hog and 7' rhino plow.

Location is eastern ontario.

I have a mf35 that is only 2wd without a mechanical locking diff.

Is there a best time of year to purchase?
How do I know when to stop and just finance then and there?1
I’m in eastern Ontario also and have a CX2510 cab a smith welding pull type snowblower and Maschio flail with hammers. This combo works well for me warm in the winter and A/C I the summer with no bugs. It is a little low on power but going slow gets the job done. The cab was the best decision followed by the pull type blower no sore neck

I would/did get something like this, as I feed round hay bales on the hobby farm. IMO it’s a good size, you can lift a lot, pull a heavy box blade, or 2000lb log. You can pick up old ugly implements for cheap and use them.
If your land is flat and dryer, a 2wd 60hp utility loader tractor does all the things for even less money with tire chains, tire weights, and some experience.

One maxim I live by is if you are planning on keeping something for a long time buy the very best that you can afford. For me in the case of a tractor that meant having something I was comfortable operating first and foremost. Spreadsheet or no spreadsheet I wouldn't consider any model until I had operated it and found it "fit" me.

You should have this for a long time and it would be a crime if you just don't like the machine and you regret your purchase every time you use it because price was everything to you when you bought it.

Check the FEL lift height, some of the LS tractors have shorter lift heights, things like dumping materials over the bed edge of a pickup comes to mind. Also even with the same lift numbers at full height the loader that lifts higher has to have stronger hydraulics to lift the same weight higher that may mean larger diameter cylinders/ rod sizes.
Just seconding this info.

I bought a larger unit than you are looking at. Got an LS MT3 52hp for primarily loader, backhoe, and road maintainence work.

Have been super happy with it and feel very justified in the money I saved by going with a less expensive brand.

The biggest thing that I don't like though is the low loader height and reach. It is not a killer issue and is manageable but I definitely wish that the loader height limit and associated reach was better . More of a pain than I originally thought it would be.

Having said that though, I would definitely buy my tractor again.

When I was trying out tractors the one I had just tried out did not
have a cab and my wife said get one with a cab and it sure is nice
to have a cab when the temp is over 105 in the shade with a/c &
heat. No dust, bugs etc.

My ls 226 does not lift quite as much or as high as the tym 2515 . The ls and kioti 2620 are neck and neck. That said tym tends to have the highest lift capacity and height. But they seem to have more issues with bent cylinders than every body else

Maybe because the higher lift capacity is advertising fluff and people believe it.

I did prefer the seat on the Kioti to the TYM 2515. If I remember right (might be confusing models), I preferred the loader joystick on the Ck2610. Regardless, the Kioti, the loader stick is, to me, perfect place, angle, ect

Maintaining my 10 acres and helping a buddy on his 30 and 50 acre parcels, I've never thought my L3560 was too big, always just right. Maybe once wished it was a little more. I would have never wanted less tractor for any of those parcels. A good used M Kubota might fit your bill as well.

The MT225HE was a pretty nice tractor, it actually felt right. Tires were not loaded though.

The dealer was awesome, he basically said go try it out and find a pile of dirt to play with. The MT225 has a Mitsubishi engine, which was quieter than the MT226E I test drove. The latter having a Yanmar engine, which I suspect would be a little more torque-y.

I found the MT226 to be slightly more jerky in its loader motions (newb here).

So, I do like the MT225HE, but need to talk with my CFO about costs.
