Good Morning
65° and damp. High of 70 and light rain likely all day. Yesterday we got 1/4” of rain spread out over the day. Today might bring showers later.
Yesterday started with hauling the excavator over, that went without a hitch. Made a router template to cut out some Azek spacers to put around electrical boxes and things like the dryer vent that will be in areas that are getting stone facing.

This morning I’m going to sweep up, power down the heat pump and remove the thermostats for the foam contractors to start their prep.
Maybe go with wife to pick out quartz for the countertops and island. Met with tile vendor yesterday to get a short list started for the shower and the floor areas that will get tile.

Good Morning,
Ct, 61 to start going to low 70’s. Another cloudy start today, with more showers moving in tonite ! It’s been a rough week for anyone on vacation.

Yesterdays walk was in a mist, so got a little wet but it never really rained while I was walking. Did a bunch of puttering yesterday, not really getting a whole lot done. I did spend some quality time watching a video of how the back legs on the rocker are constructed!
Scott, your rocking chair's gonna rock!
Wngsprd, I am admittedly over my head on this project but I continue to perserver . I have laminated all the paper patterns to sheets of luan and have video of a master chair maker walk you through the various stages of the project! He stresses in his video to take your time which I find pretty funny because I have puttered on this for a couple years already! 😂

I also spent some time out in the garage fiddling around with my old Wheel Horse tractor. At 42 yo, it’s getting close to either a complete engine overhaul or me going out and buying a new machine ! 😉

Wngsprd, prayers for your MIL ! 🙏

Here is a pic of the wood for the rockers coming into the shop, so I guess I have made some progress! 😉😀

Hope all have a blessed day ! 🙏

Good morning, the low temp is 58 and going to a high of 77°F. Wind ESE 6 mph. 30% chance of showers.

I'm up late today, but at least I am UP. It sure beats the alternative.

My new ride should be here today or tomorrow. Then I can get some of my independence back.
Pictures to follow when I get it.

Scotty, on the Wheel Horse rebuild the engine IF you can get the parts. You still have ten times the machine than the new ones. IMHO
If you decide to 'bite the bullet' and get a new one, stay away from Kohler motors. They make good canoe anchors.

Have a safe day all

knob and tube was 12 gauge copper, 20 amp.
I remember that in my grandfather's house, they never tore it out when
they rewired the house.

Romex came in the 60's for residential.
is there something newer/better now?
We have knob and tube in the old farmhouse. Plus added romex. Much of it is a wiring mess-- opened a wiring junction box and found 4-5 black wires (hot) also connected to one green wire. Green is typically ground but not for whoever wired THAT up. lol

Wife and I are back in NV this morning for Rigby's second puppy training class. The first class was heartbreaking-- he is terrified of other puppies/dogs! All the other pups socialize but he is afraid and wants to run away. We are hoping he can socialize with other pups/dogs better starting with the class today. Several weeks ago, a dog in the vet's office got very aggressive against him and it has obviously imprinted fear of other dogs. We are hopeful to get that out.

Will be back in CA by mid-day where it will be 95F and sunny.

Everyone have a great day!!!

My wheel horse is 35 YO, and not running. I had a guy rebuild the engine yrs ago, got it home, and it never ran again. wouldn't start. 10 yrs ago I pulled the engine to have it looked at, and it still sits in the barn like that. I bought husqvarna and then the ZT.

Rain heading right up over you Buppies. I'm interested to see what it does at my lot. The neighbors claim water runs pretty good at the lot, I haven't seen any to speak of yet. This will be the best test.

.43" rain so far today.

nice looking trike Bill.
hard at work cleaning the house

hope Rigby finds the other dogs fun soon

years ago there was a big discussion about whether glass fuses worked better than circuit breakers.
not sure it was performance or convenience that won that argument.
now we have ground fault detectors and arc detectors.

I remember changing those glass fuses as a kid, likely many of us did.
And those big two inch solid fuses for higher amperage.

does anyone here still have glass fuses in operation? outbuilding/barn?

Frits, I really hope this rain coming over you doesn't wreck your driveway.
if your neighbor is overflowing again, take lots of pictures.

rain is going further West, coming right up over Maryland and central PA according to paths
hopefully just a heavy rain and apparently fairly slow moving.
five inches can make a mess

still only a couple more inches predicted here.

back to the products of procrastination, piling versus filing

Good morning! 73˚ clear skies heading to 100˚. Yesterdays predicted temps were exact 101˚ with a heat index of 109˚. I had a followup visit with the oral surgeon.yesterday morning that I remembered about an hour before the appointment time and everything healed just fine. But it was already 97˚ by the time I got home, my morning outside work window had closed. Just did a good watering of the newly planted date trees. Now if I can just get the Fig trees in the ground. We are still under an air quality alert and a heat advisory through tomorrow. Pool water temp in the afternoon is 92˚.

Morning all, 68 going to 74 and raining. Got another inch or so.
Pool is full so I need to get rid of some water and probably get more salt, again.
Lots of puddles, wonder if the trench river is flowing yet, will look in a bit.

Case worker for Dad is a no show, we were supposed to have a meeting today, so frustrating....

Onward to Yosemite:

Drew, up until 5 years ago I had two circuits in the old hen house that were 15 amp protected by glass fuses. Now there is no power to that house at all in preparation for demolishing. Sooner or later.
I pulled the cable going to it and have repurposed the circuits for two 15 amp outside plugs. One duplex outlet split into two individual circuits.
