I like coal-fired electricity.
The average USA coal electricity powering my Model Y emits the same CO2 load as a gasoline ICE at 40 MPG.
I like CO2. Makes life greener. Shrinks deserts.
But I also like electricity which my Tesla doesn't give a hoot as to whether it comes from coal, oil, natural gas, hydro, nuclear, wind, or solar.
Details not finalized but new home will probably be getting 15kW of PV panels and 36 kWh of battery backup. How much would it cost to make biodiesel? How many supplies would you have to purchase? How much hazardous byproduct will you have to dispose of? How much work? PV solar has no moving parts, no consumables. I did this homework long ago when I owned a diesel truck.
