Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...4 hours at part store,afternoon since lawn was trim mow yesterday,might mow the front field or putter afternoon.

Some insurance co.'s wanted 10,000 dollars a year! We were able to find one at 5000! Don't know how young people can afford driving. I had 4 cars on the road and only paid around 1000 total.

Good morning, the low is 58 and going to a high of 77°F. Wind SW 5 mph. 40% chance of shower and maybe a t-storm.

If there is no rain by 10, then it is clean up the wood room day. Lots of bark that needs to get out of the basement and off the the back of the north field. Junior fills the 2 buckets we use for this and passes them out to me and I dump them into the tractor bucket and haul them off to the corner where I dump them.

He doesn't want to do the other shelter roof until Sunday/Monday. Since he is the one doing the bulk of the work, I leave it up to him when it gets done.

Ron, Sassy has the front part of pointing down pat but not so much on the back part.

Drew, that sure is bad timing. Good luck with the sadist. (Dentists are sadists. IMHO)

Home alone at the moment, so need to get busy with morning chores. Me and the SO are just two ships passing by...these last few weeks.

Did manage to get the grass cut around the pool late yesterday. Looks like I will need to start cutting everything again, maybe later today. These cool morning temps are like steroids for grass.

Vt, 53 to start going to 76 ! We are heading out to Saratoga later this morning, they like going to the track and betting on the horses ! Maybe I will get lucky and pay for the Toro ZT I just bought !

Phil, nice turnings as usual! I did go into my shop yesterday and started to do a little layout work on the rear legs but didn’t get very far before Kathleen needed me for something!

Surprisingly cool temps right now-- high today is forecast at 62F. About 45F now. Snow is forecast over the Sierras above 8,000ft. Very unusual.

Rigby is big enough where he needs more room to run than just on the fenced lawn. Over the last 2 days I set 40 T-posts in the pasture, rectangular shaped, then added 4' high plastic fencing all around. A larger area where we can throw the ball and he can run.

Introduced him to it yesterday and he immediately began running around eating goose poop. Spent 30 minutes trying to get him interested in toys, ball, running, whatever. Nope. Just eat goose poop. Finally gave up and brought him in. I will mow inside the new area this morning and hope that will help.

Sympathy to all those with dental procedures-- no fun at all.

My mom was moved to Rehab...I visited with her yesterday and she's doing great. Wonderful folks at this complex (Independent living in apartments or single family homes/assisted living/rehab/memory care). Worked with nurse and physical therapist. The PT's mom also has congestive heart failure, so was very helpful on diet, etc, too.

Sad event on trip home...the busiest interchange on the expressway was completely shut down in all 4 directions for a long while...of course the traffic jam was terrible, but the sad part was that it was because the police were trying to rescue a young man threatening to jump off the overpass.

There was a lot of wind yesterday so a pool cleaning is on the agenda this morning.

Good morning
It’s 66° with a high just over 80 and clear sky. Ground is dry as a bone. Neighbor was discing a field, the clouds of dust just filled the air.

I did get WiFi in the old folks home, I added a node to the existing ASUS ZenAi mesh, all of the nodes use a wired backhaul so it’s got great bandwidth every where. It was a bit of a challenge until I realized that the new unit had older firmware than the existing ones, probably because I keep them updated.

Son went to the range to sight in the Ruger .308 he won in a raffle. When Ken or Drew comment on the deer population around here, they are not exaggerating. This was the picture my son took through his scope at the range.

He had to wait for it to clear the range. I really don’t think deer hunting is much of a sport in this area.

I puttered around waiting for the drywall finishers, who finally did show up, fixed the camera in the barn, the POE switch in the barn died, so I bypassed it, powering it from the switch in the shop. It’s at a least a 300’ run, but it seems to work fine.

Music was fun last night, grandson joined us for a while, but he has an earlier bed time than us.

As close as I live to Saratoga I avoid it during track season, used to try and go over once during the season, but haven't even done that the last several years. I actually prefer the trotter track. And then this year they are going to have Farm Aid at the SPAC center, so another time I'll avoid getting anywhere close to Saratoga.

Not sure what to get into today. Will depend on what wife would like to do

Considering hiring a tree company with a bucket truck to make a sweep through the driveway to get the high up overhanging branches that can be a safety issue

Did set up the helmet with the blue tooth and mike and tested it out. Received phone calls just fine and stream music from the iPhone. Still need to test out the FM radio. It is surprisingly very comfortable. Can also adjust for ambient noise levels. Need to test how that works

Morning all, 72 going to 85 and sunny.

Worked late yesterday, but did get some time to go with wife and dog to town.
Walked around, visited son at work and then sat on chairs by the river for a while.

Before that some watering and pool cleanup, so many leaves...

Phil - adding our son to insurance doubled it....amazing wood work, you really know how to use the grain to get some great looks.

Childhood neighbor just got back from Ireland tour with a stop over in Paris. Looks like she covered a lot of areas and had fun. Seems a lot of people are doing that trip this year.
An old high school buddy is off to Iceland, it was 44 when he landed, in the afternoon.

Drew - hope this is not the same Dentist I am going to to fix my broken tooth.....

So Xray shows the bones in my arm are fine. When I pointed to where the pain was, the Dr. noted that is right where the screw head sits.
Bone is calcified from where it broke, so I think it's pushing the screw head into my muscle. It hurts most of the time. Found my original Dr. from 15 years ago and will make appointment on Monday.

We saw at least 5 bucks on the road last night, and 3 on our property. hmmm, must be that time of year.

I think a new sport of grabbing a deer and hog tying it would work around here.

Good morning! Low of 57°, going up to 87°, 20% chance of t-storms. Tomorrow the temp drops to low 80's then upper 70's next week! Finally getting near 'normal'. Rain chances go up too, 70% on Sunday.

Drew, sorry to hear about the tooth. Hopefully it will get taken care of without too much trouble. Glad you got the soft start installed.

Don, glad you got some rain and cooler temps. It's been another strange monsoon season here.

Phil, another nice batch of turnings! Sorry to hear about the knee pain.... I can definitely relate!

David, hope the storm this weekend is not too bad.

got trans/hydraulic oil changed in Gravely rider, didn't get too much oil on the floor.
Went to put on new filter and wrong part, so I drained the old one, refilled it with clean oil, and
reinstalled it. Will pick up correct filter at some point, this oil was pretty clean when I drained it.

took some bufferin for aching jaw and going to lie down
gave myself my Wegovy shot, now three pounds lighter in third week. Hope it continues.
