One member years ago, had a failure of the front gears on a GC2300. MF replaced the gears. They must have known there were defective ones out here, because they didn't argue.
Use the 4WD if you find you need it. But, don't use it, if you don't have to.
Some people just leave it in 4WD all the time. I wouldn't recommend that, especially with a lot of weight in the front bucket. Or, on paved roads. The front tires need to be able to slip, If they can't, damage can occur.
Leaving it in 4Wd all the time, also wears the front tires out faster.
