Again, fantasy fear mongering.
Where are these fires? Where is the proof of EVs burning houses down more often than ICE? Honest state insurance bureaus demand real counts of incidences to prove risk.
How about:
Over 3.3 million Kia vehicles were recalled in September 2023 due to an electrical short from a brake fluid leak.
Hyundai and Kia reported 56 vehicle fires and “thermal incidents” (burning, melting, and smoking) related to this defect as of September 2023.
And then in the "Me too, EVs are easy to build! We'll just buy parts from lowest cost bidders!" department at GM, Chevrolet Bolt Battery-related fires: The initial recall in 2021 covered all 141,000 Bolt EV models (2017-2022) due to a manufacturing defect in the battery cell, which could cause fires. General Motors (GM) confirmed 16 cars had caught fire.
Then they had to do it again: A separate recall was issued for certain 2020-2022 Bolt EV/EUV models due to a manufacturing defect in the lithium-ion battery module, which could also lead to fires. GM replaced these modules with new ones.
Tesla fire data on this page:
https://www.tesla.com/VehicleSafetyReport
Says the USA average is about 18M miles/fire, in 2022 Tesla is going almost 140M miles/fire.
Damn, those Teslas really are burning the country to the ground!
And any insurance company hiking rates (on a Tesla) is doing so on false pretenses.
