49 outside this AM, heading to lower 70's. Nice and sunny out this AM, looks wonderful.

Don't know what happened to yesterday, kind of came and went. Lots to do that did not get done. Managed to get some more parging and paint on the Milk House bathroom walls. This AM, for sure another coat.

I think I got side-tracked with moving furniture around for the place. SO is pretty excited to get in there. Still needs a little finishing touches and a cabinet build out. Nothing like working around stuff....we have all been there.

Sure could use some time to cut grass. These cooler temps are really making it take off. Seems like every morning now for the last few days it just grows and inch or so.

Off to tend to the animals. Hope all have a blessed Sunday, should be a day of rest, restoration of mind and spirit and ----hey it's football! LOL. Over the years I watch it less and less, so it will be a day to ease the mind, body and spirit.

Be safe, have a great day!

good morning, 51 going to 71 and sunny

Rained, got about an inch. Went up to the Mennonite lady and picked up eggs. Husband runs a fairly large welding fab shop.

Used a stick to project the size of the tree in danger of falling on the power lines. Looks like it will just missed them which is good since they cross the driveway

May grease the ZT and the tractor today. Need to look for the ramps to get under the ZT for the 2 driveshafts

Prayers and Best Wishes for everyone.
Nice bird pix Ron. Presume that is a cardinal? Looks like he has a racing stripe!

The "Davis fire" is burning south of Reno, NV. Ignited at 2pm yesterday and was 2,000 acres by midnight. Yikes we have a "red flag warning" for high winds as of 11am this morning. Smoke everywhere, we could see flames from our house last night. Then power went out. Utility company shut off power to 20,000 people. Went to bed not knowing what might happen.

Power on this morning. The fire is at the edge of expensive homes in a golf course community called Arrowcreek. We have friends there. In the nice part a $1M home is considered starter, probably $2M average, high end $4M and up. Lots of expensive real estate at risk. Hope they get a handle on this and no firefighters get injured. To the east, historic Virginia City is also at risk, depending on which way the wind blows.

Good Morning
47° with a high of 67. Cold front came through yesterday and chased the grey skies away overnight, leaving us about 1/8” of rain.
Not much progress on the old folks home, wife was painting color samples on walls, I puttered around with several small tasks.

But I did get to the hangar and made good progress on the little plane. I’m headed back there today to continue.

Had a nice dinner out with the whole family to celebrate youngest son’s birthday, not much else to report.

hmmm, I'll be in Reno on Saturday. Will sure keep my eye on that
my trip software has both weather and fire/smoke overlays which I will study carefully the night before heading that way. Yes, keep the firefighters safe.

I found not only one leak but two. sigh.
first one is coming out of this cheesy plastic box manifold which I'm not sure goes where, but the one of the connectors was a little loose. Tightened that up. But now a pex problem.

how does one get a pex style crimp connector off a non pex hose?
looking at this looks like I need to expand it, not squeeze it.
water is drip, drip dripping out of that joint. This is exactly the problem with possibly hundreds of thousands of poorly plumbed rvs. They used crimp connectors on regular plastic hose and they fail over time. Like this one did. I suppose I could try to crimp tighter first?

so how do you get one of these off carefully since it's connected to something that looks delicate? thanks
I might also try to get a regular worm gear hose clamp in on top of the very end, see if that seals. That's what's going on anyway, and I have the socket to tighten it down pretty well. I"m figuring it is loose enough to leak, should twist off ok if I just cut the hose further down.

pic won't post
