I used to get splitting sinus headaches when I operated my old pre-emissions tractor for more than 30 minutes. Now I can operate my tier 4 tractor all day and no headache. I would never own another pre-emissions tractor again.I think the emission rules reach too far when talking about small hobby farm machinery. With that being said, everything I own with the exception of my dozer has a DPF, and a few also have DEF. At this time, I've had zero issues (combined hours across all machines is approx 4500). I do enjoy the cleaner (is it?) air and low noise as well. Going back to pre emission machinery doesn't really interest me I guess.
Could the old tractor just have a poor exhaust?
