119v on a 230v motor would be a BIG issue
Something doesn’t make sense. A 230v motor wouldn’t even start if it only had 119v. Are you measuring L1 to L2? Maybe you’re measuring one hot to ground, or neutral.
Time to check how everything is wired

I use the same outlet for my lathe which is 220v and it works fine. This is a strange situation. Time to call an electrician. Thanks

Did you manage to somehow tie into a neutral on the wiring of the plug instead of the other 120VAC split phase leg?

Because that is what this sounds like.

Don't keep running it, that is very hard on the motor at 1/2 voltage.

You need to get the full 230-240 VAC at the pressure switch. It sounds like a plug or outlet mismatch in terminals is going on here.

It may be time for an electrician if you are not comfortable tracing out the circuit. Better safe than sorry but should be basic AC troubleshooting to fix this.

The problem was the plug wiring. I had the wires going into one hot, one ground and one neutral slot on the outlet. Once I switched it to 2 hot and a ground it worked great. Rookie mistake, but I am glad it works. Thanks to everyone for the input on this topic.
