Yeah, I read that last night. Apparently they told their friends!

I can relate to her problem... A couple of years ago we had a crippled Canada goose show up in our yard. Naturally, I felt sorry for her and started throwing out food for her. It wasn't long before she had a couple of friends dropping in to visit with her. As you can guess, the population quickly exploded to over 50 Canada geese 'dropping' in (literally), to visit. And thier visits quickly extended to all-day visits.
It takes a cold heart to not try to help wild animals, but the fact is - they don't need nor want/need our help. They just want to be left wild.

I plant about an acre+ of sunflowers every year.
After the birds strip them (beginning of September) I mow the stacks and plow the ground over to kill the weeds and their roots.
The Kanuckistan geese move in late fall. They especially like it after it rains.
There are so many of them that they manage to trample the plowed field flat foraging for missed sunflower seeds etc.
It's difficult to make out any furrows.

That was on TV here this morning. They said that it will cost her $500 each to capture them (that's about $50k total) and the laws there require them all to be killed.

~$30 for a box of 500 22LR should be plenty.

Too messy.
22 with a scope unless she has neighbors nearby.
