Good Morning
46° and a clear sky. High of 60 and continued sun today.

Yesterday we got everything seeded and straw mulched, and set up sprinklers, because there isn’t any rain in the forecast. I would really like to get some grass growing so that I don’t have a sea of mud over the winter.
Seeded and closed off the construction entrance, that makes it seem like the end really is in sight. Having the final and occupancy inspection scheduled for Wednesday helps that feeling as well.

I got most of the construction debris cleaned up, just getting the finishing touches on the exterior. Put all the door hardware on inside, the painters are working on the walls, all the woodwork is stained and varnished.
I didn’t get any new pictures for show and tell, I stayed busy all day.

Today will start with breakfast with the professor, then we have to get a document notarized for the township, we’ll do an Amazon return while we are in town and drop our ballots off at the courthouse.

53 going to 65.

Wow, snow on Thomas' mountain and frost on Ron's roof...it's getting cold in some parts of our world. We are supposed to see 30's tonight.

RS, good to hear your wife is better. Real nice looking peppers. I'd love to try them. We had a pretty good harvest this year, but nothing like that.

Changed the oil and filter on the zero yesterday. Decided to change the oil on the mower gear box while I was at it.

10 10 today. Anybody remember CB radio code? I'm sure L4N does.
10 - 4, I'm 10-8 Going for a 10-23 before I have a 10-100.
I understand that originally the ten code was designed for emergency services, primarily the cops. Then CBers took it over.

Good Morning,
Vt, 35 to start going to 49 ! We had quite a good amount of rain last night and Kathleen and I stood on our porch with our accent lights on watching it come down ! We originally were going to have a campfire but between the cold and then the rain we settled for some porch time watching the rain !

Don and Drew, the lasagna looks amazing, I’m sure it’s gone by now ! You guys broke a cardinal rule ! No glass in the hot tub ! 😉 Of course, rules are made to be broken, and I do the same thing ! Don that hot tub looks amazing !
Glad you guys had a good visit ! Don, I didn’t know you had a need for a tractor that big now !

Buppies, hoping you get more sleep soon ! 🙏

RS good to hear wife is making progress ! 🙏

Wngsprd, yep the cold for you will be coming soon, enjoy the warmth while it lasts !

Frits, sounds like your making progress!
Let us all know how you move ahead on this project !

I would really like to get some grass growing so that I don’t have a sea of mud over the winter.
Paul, thanks for compliment! Project is coming along slow but sure !
I think you may just make it on the grass, I think the heavy amount of mulch is the key to keep the found warm and of course the watering is on you !

Packing up today, need to work tomorrow! Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:15AM back in Orcutt. Foggy this morning, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 72F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Pretty smooth trip south yesterday, with only minor slowing trying to get through Sacramento. I think leaving at 8:30 AM gave traffic a little more time to clear. I also kept much more distance in front of me, which of course was almost instantly filled, but I just kept slowing down to keep that cushion out there. No emergency stops needed, but still had people cutting in front crazy close.

Stopped midway to call back another container inquiry. Another guy with a rough driveway, no clue as to who might be able to move the container, or if it would even be possible to get it where he wanted. You would think people would make some calls and decide for themselves if a 40' container would fit on their property BEFORE answering an ad selling the container. Common sense isn't so common these days I guess.

Two more pallets of firewood to unload today, and brought down four old wooden pallets to lay down underneath it. They'll probably need to be trimmed a bit first. Only one or two boxes to unload on this trip, but finding space in the right spot is getting pretty tough. Just need to find time to cut some more plywood for shelving up in the mezzanine. Not sure what else I'll get into today, but there are lots of choices.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'...

49 outside today. Mid 70's.

Got back from job trip, took a few detours and wife along the way. Now looking for new job, brought covid back from out west. Hit wife pretty hard, multiple hospital visits. In rest mode now a daze.
FIL fading fast, went to see yesterday. Bad times for sure.

BIL have not heard from yet. Waiting to hear about hurricane, directly over his house. Wife here, he rode it out with elderly neighbors who refused to evac.

So much stress right now.

Today is a new day.

Morning all, 47 going to 63 and sunny.
Got outside GFI outlet fixed, rusted screw breaking slowed the whole thing down.
Surprised the GFI outlet itself went, new one works fine.
Did not get much else done before darkness, this day job takes too much time.

Told we should be able to see aurora tonight, we will try to find a place where we can look north.
We have too many trees and neighbor down the hill has too many lights on.

Went and picked up meds, coffee and some veggies. $140, ouch.

Rip - good to see you back, sorry about the side dramas, prayers sent.

Be well,

The only northern lights I saw last night were my neighbors at 10pm
