Ordered a horned toad, cayman or armadillo off the back of a comic book.
I remember my parents lining us up with hundreds of people to get the first polio vaccine. Also have had 3 smallpox vaccinations. When I was young, then when drafted into army and again when deployed to Korea in @2005. I

My elementary school nurse had the most finely-tuned and well-exercised BS meter I've ever encountered. She must've had decades of dealing with kids who suddenly "don't feel well", just before an exam or a project due date.

Agreed. No faking with the school nurse. She was a walking lie detector. The same with the nun teachers, really any nun. They could finish a kids sentence, offer compassion with a ruler and then send you back to class. Actually, I'm glad they did.

Ordered something from the back of a comic book once. Once was enough. Got took big time. Purchase took forever to come, and nothing was as advertised, and all junk. The irony was that the company was called Honor House or something similar.

I got the x-ray glasses. I thought if you stood back far enough back you could see through women's clothes.

Friend of mine always reminds me of that song before our Thanksgiving.
He plays a pretty good guitar. Have a bonfire and he will play for hours. Girls love it.
He'll show up at my place or if I have coffee at his we go through a couple renditions.
Never thought of it this way before but I guess it's kind of a tradition for us.
I've known him since HS. A long time ago now.
