Good Morning,
Ct,36 to start going to 66 with a warming trend on the way for the next few days !
Work today and then head north tomorrow!

Went to visit my mom yesterday. On the way she calls and is having breathing problems and chest pain.
Wngsprd, prayers to your Mom for quick recovery ! 🙏
Yesterday shuttled wife to numerous Doctors, looks like it will take some time before she is 100 percent recovered.
Mike, prayers for your wife for a quick recovery also ! 🙏

Our new Peterbuilt at work is in the shop for repairs so it looks like I will be driving the old truck today ! I’m really not big on shifting gears all day but that is going to be on the agenda today !

Paul, have you ever gone to that air museum that Drew went to ? Looks like quite a place !

Hope all have a Good Friday ! 🙏

Morning all, 46 going to 70 and sunny, dry.
Did some more watering and paid some bills.
I pay them and they send new ones, seems like this happens all the time :)

Drew - you added another place I need to go, pennsacola. Looks like it might give WrightPatt museum a run for the money with that variation and the story boards.
Really want to see the balloon cockpits. I helped land a blimp at Republic airport many years ago when it was so windy the ground crew was having a bad time of it. They took us to dinner afterwards, but no way to get up to the blimp in that wind and they left the next morning.

Wagtail - sounds like the day saved you lots of pain with the local help, good deal.

Wngsprd - hope your Mom is fine, prayers sent

Ript-hope the wife recovers quickly

Be well,

Front yard almost clear of leaves, until tonight when it will probably be covered again

Speaking of YouTube hole LFN, saw one yesterday about major scandal in Canada by Justin’s party.

Nice again today. I’ll be on a short trip.
Little concerned that dad left house lights on all night. He’s stickler about not leaving lights on.
Sister took him to VA yesterday for hearing aid checkup. He had lots of wax clogging them. He got to eat out.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 6:15AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 74F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph.

Beautiful fall colors, folks. Not much change here down in the flat lands yet, but the aspens are turning the mountains gold.

Happy hunting, Drew.

In my case, a degree opened doors; didn't use most of the material I was taught, especially the upper level maths and a couple quarters of chemistry. They did show corporate managers I could finish what I started, and could learn, which is how I ended up having three distinct phases of my career. If I could give one piece of advice to a college kid, it would be to stay open to the opportunities that come your way. I can't believe the cost of college these days. Back when gas was fifty cents a gallon, tuition was $220/quarter or $660/year. My parents picked up the tuition, I held part time and summer jobs to pay rent, food, gas, insurance and the rest. I paid them back with interest after a couple years in a corporate job. No wonder there's a shortage of professionals in this country.

RAM dealer kept the van overnight chasing what must be a coolant leak. Service writer called at the end of the day to let me know. It wasn't down much, but anything is too much.

Found a video showing how to fix a sticky door by bending the top hinge. Bent it the wrong way the first try, then got it right. No more slamming that door.

Also got the LED strip lights installed back on the desk credenza. Sure is nice being able to see what I'm doing in there again.

PO had installed a wall switch in the garage using a metal box, then installed another one below it for a wall outlet. Only problem was he didn't use anything to keep the connecting piece of wire from chafing on the box openings. I've a bad habit of leaving that light on. So yesterday I replaced the mess with a double gang box and a smart switch. Didn't have a cover for it, so I hogged out a double gang outlet cover to fit the Decora paddle on the switch. I have a pile of the correct one up north, and will bring them down once I finish up the electrical work there. Added the smart switch to the control software, and included it in the script that runs every day at 6AM to turn everything off.

Tires and tubes for my buddy's bicycle showed up yesterday, so I'll get them mounted today. Tires for my bike should be here today. Each of those tires came in a 3'x3'x2" box; got my money's worth of free Prime shipping on those two.

Tried to find the comet just after sunset last night, but had no luck, even with binoculars. Maybe it's passed?

TGIF gang!

Kyle, hope your son is doing better!

It froze last night, but not bad, down to about 30F.

Rigby likes being in my lap if I am sitting on the ground, although he's a bit big for that now. Back when we visited him as a pup, he and the other 2 males from the litter all fell asleep in my lap. I think he must still remember that.

That was about 7 months ago-- he's the closest one in the pix.

Everyone have a great day!!

37°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 70° today.

Spent much of the day yesterday doing prep work in the home studio, and made tacos for dinner. PJS TacoFest has begun. Made breakfast tacos this morning (scrambled eggs, maple bacon, and salsa con queso in a soft flour tortilla), and will start writing and recording today. Four-and-a-half more days of music and tacos before The Wife returns on Tuesday. Life is good.

Tuition was $415/quarter when I was at Southern Illinois University in '84 & '85. I didn't stay, out of lack of interest in being there, and not getting that degree closed a lot of doors for me. Took me decades of work experience to finally get to a good place.
Stay in school, kids.

Trees look great, Ron.

Good morning, gents.

Very nice of you to pay your parents back RNG.
My parents could not afford school but school was free and a settlement for motor cycle accident got me by for living costs.
School was 6 days a week with classes in the mornings and lab in afternoons. Also tests yearly in all subjects and if below passing kicked out. Only 20 percent remained in the graduating class.
One week vacation for Christmas and two for summer vacation.

I went to mexican wed for a taco fix, and ended up with a burrito. Still craving a good taco. The awful stuff at taco bell a week ago was rancid, have no desire to go back there again. One of these days I'll run down to VA just for a torchy taco......
Just found torchy's taco down near rockville MD and one in Nashville. I can see myself giving them a visit sometime...

I ended up borrowing money for college from my parents my last year, and I paid them back, plus paid them back for the car they had bought me my Sr. year.

Plowhog, pretty good restraint only taking one home...

I have always said a college degree will help get you in the door. Sometimes any degree will get you in, but underwater basket weaving degree will have it's limitations. I went into engineering because my older brother had done it. All the females of my family ended up being teachers, two of us became engineers, other 2 boys electronics. youngest went on and got 4 yr degree in computer science. Several of us got masters. I almost went back for a doctorate, but didn't. I also contemplated going to law school once.

Pretty day out, need to go join it.
