So I bought a new unused? Ryobi EH1930. I see them either in completed auctions or there are a couple new/old stock open box units for sale. Mine was listed as such and it looked unused. It did have the old gas stench in the gas tank but no staining or sign of fuel. I have a feeling these were made back in the 90's. Another one that looks identical is called the ER160. The only difference I see is that one has an SDS chuck. Mine has a three jaw chuck. I was going to ask a question about an hour ago but resolved why this thing barely would stay running. It sounded like a fuel starvation issue. Tonight I took the carburetor part to a small extent and it looked like a new carb inside. You can't find replacement carbs for this other than used but you can get a rebuild kit. The diaphragm looked a little wrinkly but don't they all? A couple screws could have been tighter but I tried it again and would only run poorly on throttle lock often dying. I cranked up the idle screw but no help. As a last resort before I ordered a rebuild kit I counted how far in the H and L screws were in. I took them out one by one with a shot of green label Brake Kleen inside. I really didn't think this would help as the tiny screw points looked clean. I went back outside and it started running high idle. YES!!! I turned the idle back down to where it roughly was originally and seems to run fine now. I even put a big wood auger bit in it and drilled a few holes. So why the long post? I could find very little info on these online so maybe people can find this in a search. Maybe the odd chance someone else in here owns one. Ryobi could not find a manual so they said they would emial me one if they had any luck. that was 5 days ago. I did find a parts diagram online albeit a tad fuzzy. The owners manual was not listed but it had a sheet telling ho to initially start it. It looked like it was copied from copies 20 years ago.

What ? a gas powered drill. I take it that this is an impact type for drilling in concrete or stone.

Hammer or regular drilling with a flip of a lever

I want/found the Ryobi 160 model and found one in excellent conditions, but seller will not send video of it running.
Wants $250
Not sure what to do

I don't remember all the various gas powered tools that Ryobi made like this, but they also made a similar gas powered receip saw with a similar blue case. Don't know if I could find the date, but I think these were made in the late 1980s.

I'd be a bit hesitant if he doesn't want to send you a video. I wonder if he can't or won't

So today he sent me a video of it running, being tuned up. I was satisfied, so I paid him via “Zelle” and hes sending to me tomorrow.

Thing looks brand new. Seller claims it may have been used once just to demo it.

One thing I forgot to ask was what bits it took. I hope they’re sds or something that’s common/available. Probably is.

I have the drill and recip saw. They were bought from Damark, remember them?, in the mid-80's for $99 each. They have tiny engines, the drill has hammer but no reverse. Mine has a 5/8? conventional chuck.

This one appears to have a keyless chuck.

Can you ppost a picture of the recip saw?

I gave $213 for mine on ebay. I picked up a Bosch used 120v unit afterwards and really haven't used it.

I would if I were you, run it on canned gas instead of pump gas with mix in it, simply because your frequency of use (which will most likely be not frequently), the canned gas won't gum up the carb and you can get Tru-Fuel canned gas in a 40-1 mix ratio.

Because I use my chain saws infrequently, I use Echo Red Armor 50-1. I can leave the fuel in them for an extended time with no phase seperation issues. My weed whacker sits over half a year with no use and never has a running issue. It would with pump gas and added mix.

No reverse huh?
Well that's not good

My Stihl gas drill reverses, but doesn't hammer. And it's 2-speed.

I tried to buy a Hilti gas hammer drill, but nothing that was in running condition in my area.

Well, there was one, but the guy wouldn't ship it.

I had an old one to use for drilling ceiling joist for electrical during new construction….long time ago. I could walk along the ground and drill the joists. Kinda like a pole saw, but a drill. Dont recall if it had reverse.

Smoked out jobsites though with smell.

I’ve been running “Tru Fuel” for a job we just took on and I have noticed far less exhaust smell.
I will be using this drill in a large shop, so not too worried. I only use mixed fuel for weed wackers in the spring/summer/fall when we’re really chewing through it.
Saws get Tru Fuel or Moto Mix. Goes on sale at my local hardware store for 20% off on the big can.

I built a home once where the HVAC guys used a small gas chainsaw with pico chain to cut duct holes. I was skeptical, but this guy could do open heart surgery with that little saw.

So funny. Look what I just found.

Says “needs new carburetor”. Wonder if the parts are available? I would think a cleaning would help.

Many of the 2 stoke engine of that era had Walbro carbs.

These gas recip saws are heavy compared to today's battery powered recip saws.
