By accident, we learned that children, grandchildren and great grandchildren love pig pancakes. That is, pancakes shaped into the face of a pig. Great hit and keeps them occupied during the holidays. YMMV.

Lucky kids! I may have to try that one.

I remember my father would make our pancakes into different shapes, upon request. Some of our requests came out better than others, but he did his best.

We switched over to Lund's Swedish pancakes about the time my son was born, and now the whole family is addicted to them, so that's our regular weekend treat. Excellent, if you've never tried them, cooked in butter on a relatively hot iron skillet, 60 seconds per side.

That's how we learned about them. It was my request that the wife make them.

Normally, wife makes pancakes from scratch but I bought a small bag of this flour/mix...

...at a local Amish shop and they are terrific pancakes. No bad ingredients that I can spot. I also bought a buckwheat mix and will try that next.

You can also add a small breakfast sausage for a smile.

You should, at least, have bacon strips for the ears. 🤣

Our local grocery store carries it, but you can also get it at Amazon. About $5/box when you buy in lots of 4 or more, but you can buy a single to try under $10.

I grew up almost in the shadow of those New Hope Mills, but it's been a playhouse since 1939. I just saw White Christmas there, last December. If I recall, that pancake mix is made in New York, nowhere near New Hope, but that doesn't mean it's bad! I remember buying it on a few occasions.

The original ("Old Hope"? :ROFLMAO:) mills are also still standing, as a ruin, converted to a private residence in the 1990's. The town, originally called Coryell's Ferry from about 1719, actually took it's present name of New Hope from the new millworks, built after a massive fire destroyed the original mills and a chunk of the town in 1790.

We have used this in the past it was excellent. They also make, or made, a wide range of grain and mix products.

We also used their donut-type "beignet" (sp) mix when we lived near the Quebec province border. It made outstanding donuts as well as pancakes but that was years back. If you can find it, try making donuts in a way that uses not so much oil.

Small note here is to stand back when cooking or use one of those splatter screens over the pan. Hot oil really burns. Mentioning for a friend.

Here's the package info for the mix used for the pig pancakes. As mentioned, I got the mix at an Amish bulk store and it made excellent pancakes. I took a pic of the front, the back with location info and the side with ingredients. I don't see anything bad in it. FYI
