I have a plastic pretzel container half full of pennys and I can’t lift it.
A couple years ago gave grand kids a 5 gallon carboy (glass jug) full of pennies. Had to use hand cart to move it. Son and I lifted in to truck. I think grand kids got $120 when took to credit union. I now have a pint jar with a coin counter that is over $120. Mostly quarters. Much easier to move around.

Good Morning,
Ct, 26 to start going to 40 ! Quite a change from yesterday at 60 ! 😳
Work today, but I work better with a little chill in the air!

Yesterday I mentioned AllTrails, probably the best overall app for the US
Billy, thanks will look at that app ! Do you have the paid version? No hiking today for me, but I get to drive the Peterbuilt and pull some hose ! šŸ˜‰

I played Santa last night at an adult party, hopefully they took some pics of me which I will try and post at some point ! I borrowed the Santa outfit Fromm the FD !

Hope all have a great day ! šŸ™

30 outside this AM, heading to lower 40's. Yesterday was a pretty good rain day.
Today should be clear and cold.

Daughter number 2 had to stop and assist motorists on the interstate yesterday as they crashed in front of her. Someone lost it in the rain and took out multiple cars. Daughter managed to avoid it all and assisted all involved. She was pretty shook up and returned home instead of going to work. She said people drive like crazy.

Today I might run out with wife to a local lumber mill. I need a true 2 inch board cut to specs for the Milk House. My reclaimed board is not looking like it made the cut. LOL. Just not wide enough.

Speaking of coins, we dropped the in-laws collection off at various times these past few months. I actually inspected over 2,000 pennies. Found some steel ones in the collection and a few red ones. We had them in take-out food containers. Each one looked to weigh about 3 to 5 pounds. I still have a collection of pre-1950 wheaties sitting on my desk I need to go through, one more time.

Estate drama continues, my Dad's account got scammed. Bank says hold expired a few days ago. WTH? So now trying to recover funds. Looks like a known scam since the 2009 year as far as my research went. Bank seemed clueless.

Hope all have a good day, be safe.

Good Morning!!!! 42F @ 4:15AM. Light rain early. A mix of sun and clouds by afternoon. High 56F. SSE winds shifting to NW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 70%.
Lots of rain coming in up north over the next few days, but only a small amount here. Enough to make the weekend into an inside proposition.

Yahoo did end up pulling the plug on its web portal on Tuesday, so yesterday I got set up with one called ProtoPage. Not as visually appealing, and I'm missing a widget or two like an almanac, but the news feeds are better. I'll have to rebuild my bookmarks list as i discover them missing.

Also started a hunt for a replacement for Adobe's Dreamweaver web development tool. My standalone version won't run under the current MacOS, and I don't use it enough to warrant a $225/year subscription.

FedEx showed up late in the day with the new phone, and the data transfer from the old one went very smoothly via Bluetooth. I wasn't able to transfer the cellular subscription though, so might have to hit an Xfinity store for help today.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

GOOD MORNING! No freeze warning this morning. 27˚ heading to the 60s.

PT this morning then if nice outside spread 15 bags of mulch, if not work on putting a sealer in the shower.

Rip I too have a box of estate coins most from the early 1900, pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, some, according to the internet, are worth more than face value. Where would I take them that will pay their collectable value? Should I take a few at a time so that they won't try to get a whole box discount? If any TBN coin collectors are out there that are looking for specific coins, I probably have it.

Starting out around 25F and dropping to 20F.
Strong winds in the morning hopefully dropping off for the afternoon.
Sun cloud mix.
Few days of cold and back above freezing by sun/mon.

Since we're doing the coin story thing...
My nephew was aboot 11-12 when he was visiting with his mum.
I had a large flower vase that I used to toss my extra change into.
It was aboot 18" tall and had a curvy figure.
Being aboot 2/3s full it had some weight. I'm guessing 40+lbs. The glass itself was heavy enough.
He kept looking it over. Remember here in Kanuckistan we have the 1$ and 2$ coins and no penny.
If I remember right it cashed out at over $450.
I told him he could have it if he could lift it one handed straight out at his side.
At that time, probably at the peak of my powers, I could manage but not without stress.
He battled that vase all afternoon with no luck. But if determination was a factor he would have tossed it on the roof.
When they were leaving I gave him a crisp $50 for that reason. He just wouldn't give up.

29 reaching for 45. Bright moon earlier this morning. Got over an inch of rain.

Mostly, I think you are right.

Roasted 3 batches of coffee yesterday...company coming Saturday.

Yesterday I mentioned AllTrails, probably the best overall app for the US and many other parts of the world...provides realtime GPS logging of your hike on a map base on your phone (also a PC version). You can view other hikers' hikes and reviews, and see total mileage and elevation gain, and photos taken along the hike, attached to the trail via GPS coordinates. Filters let you pick trails of a certain length, or for features like waterfalls.

They have a free and a paid version. One cool feature on the paid version takes the trail, applies it to a 3D aerial view, and progresses the length of the hike from the sky...gives good perspective on elevation and physical features.

One other way to check out a trail is to search it on YouTube...many are well documented.
I use AllTrails, free version.
You can hike Grand Canyon on google maps, which is the only way I can now go down.

Hopefully my big jug of Pennies were prescreened for wheat Pennies, got a bunch of those also. I also had several mugs of state quarters that I’ve been collecting. I made a state map once to hold them, out of oak wood, gave a couple as gifts, never got mine finished. Will take a pic of it later.

I bet he wants to see his Uncle even more now :)

Good morning TBN!!
28 this morning and might make it to a sunny 50 today.
Yesterday was pretty laid back....again. Rained the first part of the day and had rained all night before. Had packages delivered to the car on the other side of non-bridge. Too much for the truck and held my breath as I eased the NH across the river to pick them up. Got them to the house but I wasn't allowed to open them. I hate Christmas sometimes. šŸ˜‡
Not sure what the day holds yet. Trying to get my head back in the game to do something besides walk the dog. Might try and work on the rail buggy some but not really sure.
Off to whatever!

Have a great and safe day!!

Morning all, 33 going up to 38 and cloudy.
Son got to drive past a few lighting strikes that put the whole town area into darkness and drive around some downed trees. Glad he made it home safe.

Wagtail - hope and prayers the surgery goes well.

Fedex dropped two boxes down by the road, retrieved 2 very soggy, wet boxes ......But at least they were still there.

First of many rounds of college paperwork done.

I gave my coins to my son to cash for gas money. But I do have a large collection of foreign coins, many that are not in current use, like Francs and Marks. Not sure what to do with them though.

Be well,

retrieved 2 very soggy, wet boxes
me too, found a box of citrus on front porch this morning, was supposed to go to neighbor
across street, had to get rid of soggy box and put the fruit in ziplocs. I had one of the oranges and it was
very good.

most of bird feeders were empty, and too much on the ground. I think this comes from using the "good stuff" with nuts
and seeds in the hanging feeders. Some big birds come along to cherry pick the nuts out of the feeders and fling all the sunflower seeds everywhere.
and then it rains and it all is a mess. I try to use the leaf blower on it but it was still a little frozen this morning.
Happy to see my bird bath is full of unfrozen water.
So I refilled everything with just sunflower seeds and put the combo mix in a different style feeder, will see if I get less waste
that way.

looks like blue sky and sunshine out there but not the least bit warm yet.

I ended up getting values for some of the collection at coin shops.

I also ended up looking on an app called CoinFacts, that gave information, values and has links to eBay sales. That way I sort of had an idea what I was looking at.

The issue is filtering/looking/inspecting each coin and running it up against the application takes a while. I ended up sorting by year, mint mark and condition. With the 1940's and below demanding a little bit more thought.

Good luck.

66°F and .72 inches rain.

Finished my poly panel enclosure yesterday. Guess this rain will be somewhat a test. Forecast to be a rainy day.

Hosting H&F later today. Making a shrimp stir fry and a simple fried rice

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning
30° when I got up, about 36 now, and windy. Looks like this will be the high for the day.
We got just over 2ā€ of rain in the last 3 days, nice to see the sun again.
Yesterday was puttering around, got the cart ready for the arrival of the MIG welder, not sure when it will show up, no tracking yet. Took the coins to the bank and went to the airport authority meeting. Got home and called it a day.

Today I’ve managed to go out to breakfast with wife and one of her previous coworkers, took her to stop by a farm store to check her alpaca goods inventory, got home and emptied the Roomba and cleaned Zoe’s hair out of the brushes, she makes a mess of it.
Thinking about making Ribs for dinner tonight after Drew planted the seed. I’m not going to fire up the smoker though, I’ll do them in the oven, but I’ll do the 250° route, and use the same rub as if I was smoking them. Still have messes to clean up in the shop, and have to get a shed ordered, so I wont be bored.

I do ribs in instapot, then short time in oven to get the sauce baked on.

Put together one of those wire type shelving units in basement, so I can stack junk higher. šŸ˜‚. Was an unopened one from FILs barn, that MIL gave me, and has been taking up space in my barn. Used the BX to carry it to house. Moved stuff from a shorter, smaller wire rack, might take it upstairs to the unfinished room. Need wheels for small one, it didn’t come with wheels but large rack does.
Cleaned a shower head in ultrasonic cleaner. Ran it over an hour, still a little bit of stuff on it but reinstalled. Now cleaning one from our shower. It kept wanting to float spray side up, so had to add pipe to hold it down.
