New to me 1959 Massey Ferguson 50

Hey everyone,

I picked up this beauty a few weeks ago. It's a 1959 with the gas Continental engine. It runs great and a nice tractor to drive. The gas engine sure starts a lot better than my 130's Perkins diesel (you can see it in the back ground). Any one have any tips for me?

How’s the power steering ? One of my uncles used to have a 50 but i believe it was taller than yours, the power steering was very slow.

Wow how did I miss this beauty. I own a 59 M-F 50 as well ( Gasser ) I use my tractor pretty much year round, & she is a very reliable tractor the things I done to help make it more reliable, & imho was install electronic ignition system so all the tune parts last at least 3 time as long also when I do my oil changes I use NAPA 10/W30 conventional oil (5qts.) with 1 quart of Valvoline ZR1 Racing oil 10/W30 for the zinc as well with a NAPA 10-10 oil filter canister type. If your tractor is going to be left outside be sure to cover her up to keep moisture out of the trans. & diff. even if you have new boots on the shifters. I've owned Stella for 28 years now, & wouldn't part with her for anything. I did buy a new tractor in 2018 a cut M-F 1526 diesel mainly to work with my dump truck. I hope to do a respray this year, & Have new gauges, & decals as well to put on. I've posted a few treads here on TBN on installing a electronic ignition if you want to check it out.
