Made some of the traditional Christmas dishes yesterday and had several phone calls with friends and family further away

Brother in Denmark seems to be getting along better after getting more home help. Driver license is now restricted to going to get groceries and nearby places Wished him Glade Jul

Merry Christmas to everyone remember the reason for the season. Fell asleep in chair woke up at 1:30 into bed got up at 8:00AM. Lots of grocery stores yesterday had brunch at Breakfast toastry dinner at Dominos. Eggs and bacon will fix for breakfast this morning, ribeye for dinner things I can easily handle. The deer are foraging nuts in the yard this morning.

Hung out with some girls in 1973 in Gastonia after meeting in Pawleys Island. Two sisters oldest two years older than me had lifeguard tell everyone he slept with her. She was very upset so I called him out. We remained friends for a long time cool name Cookie.

if I got the story right from my BIL, two Teslas locally crashed into each other and both caught on fire,
and fire company could not put it out for hours.

That happened just south of the TSC in Pipersville. One was stopped, the other hit it and pushed it into a building. Pretty much a fireman’s worst nightmare.

My Carryall is gas powered, and is gonna stay that way…….
No qualms with electric power, but the gas works quite well and is quiet enough.

I concur. My golf cart is gas. I don't know that I would want electric.

Tomorrow will be family Christmas, need to make some calls today to relatives.

Shoveled the walkways and driveway.
Too the tractor out and back bladed the shared road, which melted nicely.

Some good news, Friend of Friend we were with last night had congestive heart failure. They were able to fix the bad valve and Dave is out of surgery and doing well. He is usually a fixture Christmas eve and a really nice guy.

Picked up groceries curbside and surprised lady with a good sized tip. Brought in firewood and took out ashes.
Spent some time last few days with GD educating her about college and scholorships. Even though 40 k a year sounds like a lot it needs to be compared to cost and how much it may be short. Also encouraged her to get going now on off campus scholarships to make up the difference. D is helping her with the applications and evaluation of acceptance offers.

My niece wanted to go to Vanderbilt, she pitched a fit. She was valedictorian, and had a full ride at U of Tx, I wish she would've gone to A&M. In Austin, she got caught up with a bad party crowd, and it complicated her life for many years.

It is good that you are having this talk with the GD.

Good Boxing Day (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.5C and it's presently 22.0C, lightly overcast with a gentle breeze.

A lovely day, yesterday, spent with my neighbours for a Christmas Day feast. Leg of ham, pork roast, cray (rock lobster), prawns, oysters, roast carrots/potatoes/pumpkin... (I'm sure that there was salad somewhere) and pavlova for desert.

I was "as stuffed as a centipede's sock drawer"!

Today will be an 'into town' day for groceries, as practically everything was closed yesterday. I'll need to mow around the house/driveway/front paddock later on.

That's about it, take care all.

With there only being to the two of us and all the turkeys we could find were over 10 lbs, we opted for a 4 pound chicken. There will be less waste that way. Chicken leg and thigh for me with wholeberry cranberry, a sweet potato and stuffing.
For him was a breast (he doesn't like dark meat and I don't like white) cranberry, he doesn't like sweet potato nor stuffing. A neighbour brought over a banana bread, it is half gone, that was dessert.
Tomorrows supper will be the other half of the chicken with dressing and another can of cranberry and the other half of the bread.
All three cats are wasted, catnip does that to them.

We cooked 3 roasts. Mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, roasted carrots, cranberry/cherry fruit jello, pumpkin crunch, rum/chocolate pecan pie, dutch apple pie, home made fudge. I made a big pan of gravy.

If anyone left hungry, it was their own fault. Wifey made everyone Starbucks coffee, and some decaf coffee. Had maybe 16 people over, but I dropped out of Calculus 2 after 4 weeks, so what do I know about counting.....I'm better at making gravy.

Then we started our small bonfire (about 12 feet diameter 7 feet high). It was a crowd favorite. Our friend's son helped my son bring a bunch of fallen wood to stoke the fire.

We got maybe 1.5+ inches of rain with hail. I'm glad no tornadoes hit, there were plenty of warnings all around. Pray nobody got hit by one.

Don the Pacific roars across the country not sure its effect on Texas I will check. Still showing a lot of activity on the east coast after January 5th. Will get cold and stormy.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 33° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 40° with morning rain and pm clouds. Got all my Christmas calls and text done. Then went to neighbors to watch their 2 1/2 year old open christmas gifts. Fun to watch. Another neighbor brought me a Christmas Dinner plate. Very good food. There was so much on the plate todays dinner will be leftovers. Off to Sam's club to pick up a new TV for my bedroom. Will get my some grocery shopping done while there.
Yesterday was a White Christmas. But by the end of day snow was melting.

should get up to 39 today in full sunshine.
headed to rv storage spot to install a solar powered battery maintainer on rv.
Also will get car washed, covered in road salt from all my driving around.

this weekend a very warm system comes up from South with rain for days and a high of 62.
When it's that warm out, definitely going to be working in garage.
only problem with warm weather is it makes all the metal in garage condense, which clearly is not
good for woodworking equipment. I keep the horizontal metal heavily oiled but it all needs a good cleaning.
I bought some 0000 steel wool and want to make it look nicer, then reoil.

one long delayed project is mounting my vise on new work bench. Before it was just sitting on top of plastic table making
it almost useless.
now that I can actually work in the garage again, think I might build a few more birdhouses. Can never have enough.
