Re: What痴 best Snowblower paint.

I spray it with fluid film no wax , you could use brush on paint like Rustoleum that will give you a heavy coat..
After the blower gets good and dry I spray all the exposed metal parts like chains, bearings, paint worn areas with spray grease before putting it away for the season. Store your implement indoors out of the elements and it stays protected and your implement lasts longer.

FYI, rattle can simply won't cut it.
First snow will simply abrade it away.

Well that being said it will keep the bare metal from further rusting during the warm moist summer season and as U know wet snow loves to stick to rusty surfaces.

Do as I used to do.
I rattle can sprayed with whatever can I had on hand simply to avoid that bare metal from rusting.

Last fall (B4 snow) I heat moulded some HD PVC to form a liner and I can report that the effort was most successful as I clogged but 3 times (and we had some very wet heavy snow)
It also seemed to contribute to 'economising' my shear bolt consumption as well.
Can you give more detail on just how you "heat molded some HD PVC to form a liner"? What size/thickness did you start with? How did you cut to exactly fit the inside of the snowblower?

Welcome to TBN.

See bumperm's post of Oct 3, 2015 "B2782 Snow Blower modifying" (Try Googling "ultra high molecular weight polyethylene" if the link doesn't work.). He describes a very professional looking installation of UHMW PE liner and provided the inspiration and advice I used to line my snowblower's fan compartment and chute.

After snow season is over I Coat the wear areas with used motor oil, and also oil the chain and sprockets.

Hit any rusty areas with sandpaper. Then Rustolium rattle can. Give it two coats. For my blower - this lasts the entire season.

Has anyone tried POR on the inside of the blower and chute? POR is super durable, can go over rust. I'm not sure how "slippery" it is compared to enamel or sno-flo paint. I'd be curious to see how it holds up inside the blower and chute.

I did exactly that. So far I have not had any thing stick to it so I am happy. Although, I have only had 2 snowfalls with it, not very deep and not very wet (mostly light and fluffy). So far so good and I am on a gravel driveway.

One of the main problems I see - many are trying to blow wet/heavy snow. Many have no choice. I'm retired. Don't have to be anywhere at any time. Wet/heavy snow is a PITA - no matter how you have prepared your blower.

So...... I would get up at 2AM when the snow is still crusty. The blower handles crusty snow easily.

I no longer use a blower. I have a larger tractor and larger rear blade. However - unfavorable snow conditions still apply.

With a blower. Leaving it out in the cold will help. I kept mine in a carport stall. Cold but covered. A warm blower will melt the first snow and it can refreeze as you use the blower. This can lead to all sorts of problems. Especially with wet/heavy snow.

Good to hear that you’ve tried it with success! Did you knock any of the rust off, or just roll right over it as-is?

I’ll be doing the same thing!

I used Rustoleum Rust Reformer. It can go over rust, and top coated with color of choice. I also use on my truck undercarriage. Has stopped rust in its tracks, unless rocks chipped it off. (then I just reapply)
