That's not really an issue.

If you don't turn them on bad things can happen. If you don't turn them off they'll turn off by themselves.

How long that takes depends on the size of the battery, but they will turn off.

Depends on what your driving. My old car with manual operated lights does not turn off lights automatically when I park it. My wife's car and my truck does. For some reason on my old car the headlights do turn off when the ignition is off but not the markers or taillights. Anyways forgetting to shut off lights I killed the old battery a few years back on it, so reliving my younger years and being super cheap parked on hills for a few days and popped the clutch to start it lol.

Speaking of trying to bring a newer car through an automatic carwash. Why don't manufacturers put a clear concise car wash button on there cars so when you put in neutral on a conveyor type wash it doesn't want to apply your brakes automatically when a carwash brush encroaches the safety zone and the cars sensors automatically apply the brakes Thereby causing a backup in the usually free flowing process. I admittedly can barely operate the radio on newer cars and have gotten lost in a newer cars infotainment screen which have gotten big enough I could probably repurpose it and use it to watch TV in my living room. Newer cars have so many sensors that I don't know which ones I need to disable or minimal idea how to access the infotainment center to shut them off for a carwash.

I think you know the answer to that.

At our town's transfer station it's self-sort with recyclables. Bins for plastic (separate bins for type 1 & 2, no other types accepted), steel cans, aluminum cans/foil, glass, newspaper, cardboard.
Never fails, steel cans mixed in with the aluminum, cans mixed in with the glass, type 1 & 2 plastic intermixed. Keeps the attendant busy keeping it properly sorted out.
Personally, I don't think it's that hard but it appears beyond the skillset of many.

Around here you can sort it out for them but when the truck comes it all gets dumped in the same compartment ive watched them unload at the landfill also

After 40 years of recycling being pretty standard, and all-in-one bins being the norm for at least the last 30 years, I'm amazed that there are people out there who don't understand how recycling gets sorted.

You can argue about the merit of recycling, in fact I think there's a good argument to be made that most plastics recycling is net-negative. But let's not pretend it's not getting sorted, as cardboard and paper recycling is known to be super-effective. I think Aluminum comes out as a net-positive, as well.

I think you missed my point. The lights will turn off automatically, but as mentioned, how long that takes depends on the size of the battery.

And that's what prompted auto-on headlights.

You shouldn't have to be bothered with driving and having to be aware of the conditions.
