F Series vs. ZD

Is that a rear discharge deck and if so how do you like it?
That’s just a stock photo I found. Mine are side discharge.

To the OP: I’d be finding a plow for the Deere and buying a big zero turn for the grass.

A F series Kubota will be slow & bumpy cutting your grass and slower & less capable of plowing snow than your Deere. That’s a lot of driveway you have there.

or:

Do you have a 4x4 truck you can mount a plow on? That would be even better. Or just buy a beater 4x4 pickup with a plow and a solid diesel ZD-1211.
I’ve been through the issues you are having and tried the F. There’s another TBN member named Brown Dog who tried multiple F series mowers and didn’t really like them

There is always an option that won’t cost you a thing, just keep using what you’ve got. I mow with my tractor and a 60” mid mount deck. I do mow less than you at about 2 acres.

Or buy a clean used diesel zero turn for like 10 grand

I have thought about that…but finding a good clean used zero turn is hard. Plus Kubota financing is hard to beat on new units. I’m leaning towards the zd1211 72” now.

Ferris 3300 look nice with suspension but that gas engine meh…

Grasshopper look nice too. But dealers are in the next state. Not local. They are using Kubota diesels…so why not go Kubota.

Scags look nice…don’t know much about them. But most are gasoline. I really don’t think I want a gas engine. I use diesel already. And with the amount of mowing I do. I don’t want to constantly have to make trips to the gas station.

Skag has diesels as well. Love mine. Have a Kubota as well, love it too.

Yes I bought (2) 1211-72’s with 0 for 60 months. Incredibly tough to resist.
One more suggestion- IF your lawn is extremely bumpy, add an air ride seat.
The 1211 rides great “stock”, but if you can finance-in an air ride seat, it doesn’t add up to much.
If it’s not bumpy, then just go with 1211 as is.

Looks pretty cool to me
Toss a plow on it!
That’s about 8K
New ZD-1211 is 20K.
Still cheaper than a F, and now you'll cut 2-3X faster than an F, and plow snow in about 1/10th the time. (y)
