this is an old post but worth a shot... i was considering doing some modifications like you mention. Can you shed some light on where this smoke screw adjustment is on the injection pump and which way you should turn it for more fueling?

Thanks, i took a look at that other link, i still didnt see anything in there regarding the procedure for fueling adjustment in the injection pump.

Are you familiar with these tractors and their shibaura engines? I have not been able to find any information regarding how to adjust the fuel in the injection pump. I read through all of the manuals i have for the tractor but still didnt find anything. I am pretty good with diesel mechanics, but on older diesel truck engines like a 12 valve cummins or 7.3 IDI engine. I kinda feel like this Ford 1210 injection pump has a similar situation as the IDI, where youd remove an inspection plate somewhere on the injection pump and find an adjustment screw inside of the pump, but i also dont want to start tearing things apart on the pump without at least some information on what to look for.

You might want to contact the @thepumpguysc who is a member here on the forum. He rebuilds pumps and can steer you in the right direction.
