Good morning TBN!!

29 this morning but warming quickly. Should be in the 50s this afternoon.
Not a lot yesterday. Did a dump run and ran some errands in town. Went to Lowes and bought an 8 ft Werner step ladder for $69. The six foot I have is just a little too short to get to higher shelves and garage door workings.

Walked the dog plenty. Got the tractor started and let it run a half hour or so. It started on it's own Always a plus especially with the weather and the battery that's in it

Drew, hopefully they can figure out the issue with over heating on your new vehicle!

Paul just curious on your plasma table issues, you mentioned tip getting plugged up. Is there a Z axis on that table ? Just wondering if it might have something to do with initial start distance from the work piece and rate of feed to pierce the plate ? Of course I know absolutely nothing about plasma cutting !! Good luck finding the issue !

Delivery of new stackable washer/dryer went well. The two delivery guys came up our DW with this huge box truck, the driver didn’t want to attempt to turn it around up here so after the delivery they backed down 800 ft of DW ! Looks like they almost got stuck in the culvert by the road but managed to get out !

Today I will try and spend a little time out in the shop, since it looks like we won’t be leaving until Monday!

Right now I’m sipping coffee in fron of the wood stove ! But need to get going soon !

Yes there is a Z axis.
The sequence is that it drops down to sense the height of the surface by seeing the drive motor current rise as it stalls, raises to .150”, initiates a pilot arc, then lowers to the .060” cut height. The tricky timing is in the delay from when it lowers to cut height to make the pierce until it starts the actual cut, as well as the lead in distance and angle to the cut line.
The actual cutting distance is maintained by a closed loop that monitors the cutting voltage and drives the Z axis. If the cut height increases,so does the voltage required to maintain the arc, and conversely if the voltage dips, it raises the torch. This lets it compensate for a surface that isn’t level.

I am getting a decent handle on it, changing parameters and seeing the result has been a big help. Much less frustration than trying to learn on a part that I need.

David, Cody was back to normal after the seizure. He has had about one a year for the last few years. Not sure what it is causing it. Two different vets have examined him and done testing

Should get some significant ice melt the next few days. Don't recall large portions of the driveway and yards being this icy this long in the decades we have been here.

On icicle watch, will it come down today? How much will it grow. Points to ponder for sure.

Morning, 34 going up to 40 and partly cloudy.
Yesterday did not go as planned.

Water dripping from the ceiling in the Apartment garage and turning to ice.
Got heater fixed, air intake iced.
But now have a burst pipe in closed off ceiling.
The ice skating rink around the tractor was not much fun.
Here goes some $$ :-(

Well, might poke some holes in the ceiling and see where the pipe burst. Could be anywhere in a 10-15' area. Also ordered a temp alarm for the garage. We do not go up to apt every day and did not notice it cold the day before, so probably died during the day and did not notice until next day. I was up there Monday and all was fine...

Day started at 20°, should reach upper 30’s. First day above freezing in at least a week.

Yesterday was a slow moving day, helped youngest son fit some metal thresholds, that involved drilling and countersinking them as well.
We set up a crude fixture in the Bridgeport to countersink them, taking advantage of a depth stop to make them consistent.
Worked on the heat loss calculations for my buddy, dealt with a burst frozen pipe at a neighbors, went for short visit with oldest son and family, and then home dinner and a movie in front of the fire.
Son took grandson flying in the little plane, grandson flew most of the time.

The TV and audio system built into the great room makes a great home theater. Wife occasionally complains that the TV is too big, but then when watching a movie enjoys it.

Not sure about today’s agenda, a Costco run has been mentioned, I would like to make an extended door strike plate, that would involve a drawing in fusion, cutting it out, making the bends,,drilling and countersinking the holes and then having it powder coated. I haven’t been able to find one commercially made that is long enough, so I will likely make one.

All of the hardware is presently black, so I’ve been “directed” to make it black. Brass did cross my mind, it’s a lot easier to work with, and I don’t have to get it powder coated.

had a nice visit with relatives, a nice toasted bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers, which
we always called little green boogers growing up. To the dismay of our parents.
mixed with salmon the intense flavor mixes right in. And some peppermint tea that was delicious.

I fear Boo was harvest mid November,neighbor inform me male bear over 300lbs was taken about 1/4mile from our home, cross had Boo shall return towards end of March or so.

RNG people usually use salt to enhance flavor. We do it with lime juice, vinegar and spices. Costco has a no-salt seasoning you may want to try.

Good Evening GM thread!

Been a weird day. I went to sleep in the recliner last night and when I woke at 7:30 I thought I had slept until 7:30PM. Figured it out when I realized it was getting lighter outside instead of darker.

I made some dirty rice last night that turned out real good. Plenty left over so I had that again today.

scott, that pic looks cold! We've been cloudy and damp, misting rain all day so it feels colder than 50°F.

Good morning (afternoon). Status quo here.....

Not any really good news to report. Dona's blood work is still way out of wack. She had a second blood transfusion, 2 units this time. They bumped her chemotherapy back a week because it was so bad.

Now it is scheduled for this coming Wednesday..... the same day that we could get a foot of snow....
Not good considering the hour drive to Santa Fe through the mountains.
Then the drive up again on Thursday for another thoracentesis, her lungs keep filling with fluid. This will be number 5.

I'm still trying to catch up on here.... a loosing battle. Seems each day I fall behind another couple of pages....
