Good morning!!!!

two bit, always good to hear from you. Enjoy being warm.

looks like rain tonight and tomorrow here.
sorry New England, guess that means more snow for you.
"back in the day" all these rain storms here would have been snow.
It seems heat line is moving North and the transition point to snow goes North too.
but then there always will be the surprise polar express that freezes even Florida.
the last batch of that had iguanas dropping out of trees all over South Florida.
So while you get less snow overall, still means you have to be prepped for the big one.

but New York and above, no lack of snow for you all this winter.
we really need the moisture in this area. Like Buppies we seem to have dried out more than normal.
Lake Drew has to return to mean the deep roots are happy.
you want to really soak the forest floor to keep that flammable fluff from lighting off.

Spike, abbreviated version good. Otherwise overwhelming amount of stuff to read.
if they have a good index, always helpful.
However, best way of learning is to find Youtube video, there must be ten folks out there who have
videoed their new Equinox already. Particularly when they do how to's on the infotainment system.
always a nice thing to make sure Home is set for your wife on the nav system. I use that all the time.

I have family in Georgetown who fly in and out at National airport. Lot of emails flying around this morning.
so far all accounted for. Sure doesn't look good there, still haven't heard of any survivors at this point

Good morning TBN!!

35 this morning supposed to hit 60 today with mostly clouds. Yesterday was really nice. Hit 65 here at the ranch. Spent most of it just enjoying it
I did fire up the chainsaw and cut up some of the pine and then loaded it into the FEL and threw it on the burn pile.
Dog walking and riding.
Finally the long awaited visit from FEMA should happen tomorrow morning.🤞

Time for a second cup and see what the day holds for me.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Wades Gap Road and Webster Corner Road in Franklin County is where it started. No updates yet this morning 450 acres last night at least winds have died down very rough terrain kinda scary to be told to evacuate.

Terrible about plane crash and loss of life prayers for affected.

Up late last night maybe a nap after looking at another job.

Sorry about tow truck debacle Thomas seems no one knows how to do their job anymore, hope car is fixed Drew, hope PopG got a good car.

One elementary school is closed for two days due to throw up bug oh joy

Prayers for all silent or spoken our Country

Apparently we have the same warranty……….
is yours "Triton Certified"?
difference is always who backs it up
every touch with Beans dealers is an opportunity to get abused.
am very glad you are dealing with Thompson.

your used car is a few years older than mine. Guess you'd better check your heater hoses too.
and next time you see this Ford let's plug your OBD reader in it again. You cleared the codes before this last
overheat so should be interesting to see what's in there now. Unless the dealership cleared codes to cover something up.
I know I'm suspicious, but this is truly trust but verify. Always seems to be follow the money.
600 bucks for diagnostics. Really? I wonder if their noses are growing longer.

Good Morning
25° under a clear sky, high in the upper 30’s predicted.

We finally got the shed ordered yesterday, and took the Prius to the car wash while we were in Quakertown.
It’s a good old fashioned car wash where they hand scrub the wheels, completely towel dry, and clean all the glass inside and out as well as vacuum the interior.

I finished my extended door strike, bead blasted it, and dropped it off to be powder coated.

Did a bit of work with Fusion 360 trying to become proficient, designing a battery dispenser for AA and AAA batteries. More of an exercise than a necessary project. The final result will be 3D printed. Other than that, just sort of puttered around, finished the evening in the recliner in front of the fire.

Today I’ve got to do some FAA paperwork, hopefully get something done in the shop, but the main task is to prepare a full packer brisket and a pork shoulder for the smoker. Then get the smoker fired up and loaded for an overnight cook, probably 14-18 hours.

Probably not on Don’s menu, and I would think it would be difficult to come up with a plant based substitute.

Not a lot else planned, but something always seems to pop up.

Hopefully it stays away from you.
We have one on our county line that has burned about 300 acres and was 0% contained.

Good Morning!!!! 39F @ 5:30AM. Sunshine to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 59F. Winds light and variable.

One word for you, check: Diversification.

If you're gonna be towing with the new truck, Drew, you might be interested in monitorinng such things as oil pressure and temperature in both the engine and transmission. Heat is the enemy of both, and apparently past versions of the Promaster have had issues. I bought a thing called a ScanGauge 3 that can display many, many parameters on a handy dash display. It also can read trouble codes from the OBDII port. Being OBD based, it's also easy to move from car to car if you need to. Not cheap, but peace of mind when pulling a heavy load, especially in the mountains.

Got the last pallet loaded with firewood, but ran out of battery power before I ran out of pallet. Had a bunch of bucked wood that has been laying uncovered, but since it's been so dry decided to fill the rest of the pallet with it. Gonna be a while before I even have a place to burn wood down south, so it'll have plenty of time to dry out completely. There's more wood left in that pile, so I'll gather it up and get it inside the garage today. The pallet in there is almost empty, and with a week of rain on the way, I'm gonna need that wood to stay warm. If I run out, there's only 100 or so gallons of propane in the tank, and at $3.40/gallon, I'd like to avoid buying any now.

FWIW, Kubota Super UDT makes a decent chainsaw bar oil. The fancy synthetic gear oil I use in the Vanagon does, too. I wouldn't recommend either at about $130 for a 5 gallon bucket, but sometimes you end up using whatever you can get your hands on.

More bad news on the insurance front. Homeowner's insurance for this place will now cost an eye watering $6,400/year. And coverage on each of the vehicles went up by at least $100/year; the Camry alone went up $400. Pretty clear at this point that State Farm doesn't want to do business in California anymore, but for homeowners, there doesn't seem to be a better choice.

I think I have a buyer for the shipping container, and a trucker is supposed to be here this morning to move it. I'll belive it when I see it, and the money is in my pocket.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Morning all, 27 going to 40 and calm.
Need to go out and find out where all the tree parts landed, heard a few in the house.

Popgadget - glad the suv worked out, good things worth waiting for.

Spike, that's some of my old friends in that group.

Drew - had some bad experience with Beans, they will never get my business.

This is not the first large plane that hit the Potomac, scary and should be avoidable.

Thomas - hope car issue isn't too bad.

Need to replace headlight in Jeep, again. Such a pain to do. Replaced tail light, that took 2 minutes. Headlight takes about 30 with all the fidgeting to get the bulb sorted in the metal fingers without touching it. All by feel, this will be the third bulb on that side.
Headlights come on at every start for no apparent reason than some engineer decided it would be a good idea I guess.

be well.

RNG, good advice, thank you. I did find the drill down page for trans temp, too bad I can't select to show it on main screen.
Ram used to allow choice of data, seemed a good idea.

heater hose from Rock Auto 68 bucks. Dealer charged me 186 dollars each for two less their
magnanimous ten percent off deal for me.

good morning, 38 going to 47 today and rain for tomorrow

Dropped Cody off at the groomer and the additional information at the tax accountant.
Cody's fur is growing fast so plan to do this on a 6 week schedule going forward to limit the tumble weeds of fur in the house.
Have an older Scan Gauge and would recommend it. Mine does not have the latest capabilities but should be able to send it in and get it updated with the latest software but never got around to doing it.
Was able to set up a new appointment for the infusion
Strange to be without Cody for the day. He gets to be so much part everyday life and hard to imagine it without him

I had 2 ScanGauge 2 on my Motorhome. Gave a lot of data that is not available from GM dash. Looks like the ScanGauge 3 will do what took 2 ScanGauge’s. I stopped at ScanGauges main office in Mesa, AZ a coupe of times for free software updates.

72°F and .09 inches rain. Main part of storm supposed to be passing. Surprised not much rain, but we did have some flashy lightning earlier.

Another indoor day.

H&F later. I’m making my roasted curry kabocha soup.

Such tragedy in DC

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Afternoon all!
Was 8 this morning and is at the high of 20 now. High winds have me back on the tractor today. Drifts are twice as high as the storm was!
Still no joy from the Post Office! Guess I will have to stop in and see if they can find the letter!
Wife made yummy chicken soup while I was out.
IMG_0489.jpg

Also squeezed in a quick project in the shop.
IMG_0495.jpg

Nap time now with conserve energy the rest of the day.
Tomorrow will be at apartment house waiting for new fridge.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

curried squash/pumpkin soup, sounds wonderful David

Phil, please tell your wife that when we all saw your soup
we thought you should keep her...see how that plays out. ;) :giggle:

took the truck downtown for gas, drove fine, just big.
moved stuff out of volvo into Ford, then used some leather cleaner to try to get off what
the detailers didn't. I didn't accomplish much.

very difficult getting to dipstick on ecoboost engine. Had to use pliers to pull out heavily gasketed dipstick.
checked air cleaner, it was filthy, replaced that. That at least they make easy to get to.

kenmbz, if you go into the menu for the computer you should be able to cancel the drl (daytime running lights) if they are not mandatory in your state.
Or you could change them over to LED. The drl module in my Wrangler gave up after 3 years and I never replaced it. I know when I need headlights, I don't need them coming on in broad daylight.
