Good morning! 58˚F heading to 80˚, S wind, cloudy now sunny this afternoon.
78˚ at start of shift at the "Farm". Yesterday's farm was not quite as busy as Saturday but a decent crowd only a few times went to next stop with an empty trailer. Had one family exit the ride midway and walk because their child was terrified of the ride. I hate being the cause of a new phobia.

The warm weather brought the flowers blooming to the strawberry patch and the tulip patch. But I do not think the flowers in the tulip field were tulips. I'll post a pic later

BEE CAVE BOB, not a groundhog but a Texas Armadillo, saw his shadow yesterday.

"This year, Bee Cave Bob saw his shadow, but the "weatherologist" experts at this year's event say this year’s a special one, and though we’ll get more winter, it’ll only last three more weeks."

Morning all, 25 going to 49 and cloudy.
Did get the trim and patch measurements written down yesterday.
Then off to dog walk, saw Girlscouts selling cookies in the freezing weather so we bought some boxes.
By the time I got home I was starting to feel bad again and am a complete wreck this morning.

Condolences for friend Ron.

Got 1/4" snow, should melt later

Learned and old school buddies wife passed away yesterday.

Be well

then headed to hardware store for more ice melt. Used up almost all of my supply this morning.
And I see more snow in the forecast.
Car was frosted over, just waiting for sun to melt it but still only 29 out.
this will be a good test of the electric defrosters.

I feel pretty stupid.
picked up the ice melt then went to Jewelers.
uh, sir do you realize this is a solar powered Citizen Eco and the battery lasts 20 years?
groan
it's been ten years and I guess because of cold weather it just hasn't seen enough sun to keep it charged
properly. I put it on a windowsill and it will probably be fine. Only my ego is damaged, you big dumbie.

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 7:30AM. Cloudy skies with periods of rain this afternoon. High 59F. Winds SSE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall near a half an inch. Localized flooding is possible.

Sorry for your loss, Ron. Good neighbors are hard to find.
let's see, earthquakes and fire? That's RNG's beat...;)
am curious to see if cost of lettuce goes up for RNG when they grow it not far away.
Pretty much everything, including lettuce, costs more down south, Drew. Gasoline is almost a buck a gallon more, my usual grocery basket is about 30% more, mostly because I haven't found a Winco type big box grocery store. Electricity is still the same ol' PG&E (their rates are among the highest in the nation) but so far the solar panels have sold more power back to the company than I've used. That may change when I finally go full time down there. And now I've got water and gas bills to pay, but internet and phone are about half what they are up here. Insurance for the house down there is much less expensive, but the Camry and Promaster both cost a little more now. Property tax more than doubled. So far my basic living expenses are taken care of by Social Security and a pension, so I'm doing as well as I need to. Glad you have an honest jewler.

Started in cleaning yesterday by running the sweeper in the kitchen and dining area, then started packing and cleaning the kitchen cabinets. Gosh how I'm going to miss those cabinets. First, there is about twice the storage here than down south. And the cabinets here have beautiful cherry doors and front frames, and melamine bodies, topped off with nice detented hinges. All the drawers, and there are a LOT of 'em, ride on nice quiet rollers. Down south has old oak doors and front frames somebody slopped with white latex paint, and old crusty hinges. Not a set of drawer slides to be found, but I bought some slippery plastic tape that is supposed to make them slide easier if I ever find the time to apply it. I did find one huge mess on a top shelf where I'd stored cans and bottles of various cooking oils. Several rings of the stuff had hardened and it took most of a can of electrical cleaning solvent to clean it up. The melamine took it in stride and now looks brand new again. Then I started cleaning out the fridge. No big messes, but I still had to pull all the shelving out and wash it in the kitchen sink. By the time I got to the freezer section it was dinner time, so that's now at the top of today's list.

I was sneezing a lot yesterday, which I thought might just be the dust stirred up from the cleaning. But this morning I have a sore throat and a runny nose, so it looks like I'm having my first cold of the year. Please pass the ColeEZ.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...
