Who still drives a stick in 2025?

I'm late to the thread, but I got rid of my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie about a year and a half ago and replaced it with a 2006 Dodge 3500 5.9 diesel dually with a 6 speed manual. I knew when I bought it that there was no way I was going to use it as a daily driver, so I started looking for something fun to drive. A couple weeks later, I ended up with a one owner 2016 Mazda MX5 Miata soft top with 6 speed manual with 24k miles. Maybe not as much fun as the cars some of you have, but it is still a lot of fun.

Good looking ride!
+1 on that! That generation of Novas were sharp-looking cars in my eyes, the Mopar A bodies (Dart/Valiant) of that era were right up there too. Simple lines without being bland.
Big cars by todays standards, but at the time they were considered to be compacts.

I have a near mint 1985 CJ7 that's a 4 speed. I have had more CJs than I can remember in my life.. More than a dozen, less than 20.. I enjoy driving it for about 45 minutes these days, Then I'm sick of the hard ride and clutching it. It may get 200 miles a year now. I had a 911 Turbo Cab that was a 6 speed... It was fun.. But I got rid of it because I got sick of shifting it.

I still love driving my manual, and it’s been a part of my driving experience since I first learned. There’s just something about having that control over the car that makes it more enjoyable, especially when you’re on a back road or cruising in a more relaxed setting. It’s definitely a skill that’s becoming less common, though. I was actually talking to a guy at the hardware store the other day, and he asked if it’s hard to drive a stick. I told him not at all, but I do feel like it’s becoming a bit of a lost art these days.

I Just bought myself a brand new 2024 civic sports touring with a Manual transmission
There she is, last year for the Civic with a manual transmission (other then the type R and the SI) I should admit I was little rusty since its been many years driving one, also the first time driving a 6 speed.

Used to be all standards.
First new car was a 4 speed Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am.
Now my only standard is my Ford GT.
1st is good to 60mph and 4-6th are OD. Never had it all the way but top end is said to be 212mph.

Ain't gonna happen. The engine don't have enough gonads to overcome the wind resistance at that speed.

Lets see, my Focus RS turbo is a 6 speed and my big truck is a 13 double over.
and both tractors are 12 12's. My focus averages 39 mpg combined with the ac on in the summer so long as I stay out of the hairdryer. My wife's Burb cannot pas a gas station...lol

My sister still drives a stick. In fact, she goes way, way, way out of her way to buy cars that offer stick shift. We just picked up a Mini-Cooper S model with a stick as a buy, fix, sell project. It has BMW disease, but we'll fix it.
