Y'all have a long hunting season...sounds like lots of critters to hunt, or the local hunters miss a lot and need a long season???

Glad it's the hunt that has you occupied!
If you play your cards right, and have the right private land or permission, you can role right into hogs, through to spring turkey, and then start fishing again, till bow season opens.

Thought I would post a few pictures of this morning's work spraying wild mustard that is trying to take over a field that I planted in oats to cut in the spring, as you can tell from 1 picture the wild turkeys already figure it's spring.

Was that the field you showed new sprouts in a couple-three weeks ago?

....and we got almost 5" of snow yesterday.
What's all that green stuff.
Sure is pretty.
We have a wild plum tree over the well, it's the last one to bloom every spring, and it's our official sign of spring. It started blooming last week.

Yes sir that is the same place, I should have jumped on this wild mustard earlier but I have been busy doing other things and didn't check on it until yesterday, but fortunately for me this morning was still so no drift made for good spraying weather, I figure it will be in the boot stage within 2 to 3 weeks so it worked out.

I never give up on a frost in North Florida until Easter, but I believe your plum tree is probably right.
