your inside temp is 58-60? are you single? i would be living in my car if i tried to keep that kind of temperature (i wouldn't thats freezing)

Besides the beehive I found through the ceiling, we also used it to find hotspots and discovered some uninsulated spots above and below some pop out bay windows. Scanning the roofline, doors and windows from outside the house at night is educational.

I picked up a FLIR One Pro last week, the detail is impressive. I also bought an extension cable so I didn't need to keep the unit attached to the phone. It is 29 outside with 10-15mph winds. My house is leaking MUCH worse than I thought. The cost to fix will be more than I will ever recoup in energy savings in my lifetime.

Flir makes both usb c? and lightning compatible plug in cameras. I just bid and won a lightning compatible one.

I only have one image so far, presently I am traveling so it will be a few weeks before I am home again to get more. FLIR has units that are iOS Lightning, iOS USB-C and Android USB-C compatible. Next I need to figure out how to upload a pic to the forum.

The FLIR unit I have takes a visual image and merges it with the IR image. You can see a row of 3 pot lights in the ceiling of my kitchen with a upper cabinet at the end. Lots of dark blues showing lots of cold around the lights and cabinet. Sorry to folks with dialup, I was not able to resize the picture. The house temp is at 68, as you can see the ceiling temp is 65.5 and as best I remember the dark light at the end was about 52. The lights were off when I took the pictures.

Very nice. Thanks. There's nothing like seeing it with your own eyes. Kitchen looks pretty good for thermal. Interesting shot. Do you have to adjust the offset between visual and IR images?

There are two different cameras in the unit, one for IR one for visual. One is over the other. If you are shooting straight on, they are very well lined up. Taken at an angle like this shot was, it tends to separate them a bit. No idea if there is a way to align them. The manual that comes with the camera just gives enough info to get started. They say to go to their web page for the full manual, I haven't done that yet.
