Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 17.1C and it's presently 22.8C, clear & calm.

Yesterday was an arvo's work out in the shed, using the FEL with a pallet as a raised workbench. I'll finish that 'job' today.

That Cyclone crossed as a Cat 1 and quickly downgraded to an ex-TC... no lives lost, just some roofs gone and trees down = power out for 230,000. Flooding will be the next concern. I haven't 'bothered' my Mate today, if somethings wrong, he'll let me know.

29F scatter clouds winds finally dying little,highest gust today 43mph.

Try to clean up fallen branches limbs but between wind and ice didn't last long headed to basement to putter somehow I drop quart of oil which broke open what dang mess decided to put back pockets on the recliner.

Feet up watch old movie until eye lids get heavy.

Roasted carrot soup sounds like my kind of soup. Would I have to modify the recipe much?

Not really much

Carrots cleaned and cut in chunks, placed in flat pan.
I had 1 sweet potato on hand cut in half lengthwise
Likely drizzled with olive oil (or substitute)
Minced garlic because I ran out of fresh
Ground ginger also because I ran out of fresh.
Salt and pepper
Roast 350°F 1 hour
Transfer to Instant Pot
Add 2 cups stock
pressure Cook 1 hour
Scoop sweet potato from skin.
Blend with immersion blender
I added 2 cans Coconut milk to desired consistency but use whatever you prefer.
I leave in the Instant Pot on the low that follows pressure cook to keep warm.

As you can see, this is a very precise recipe.

Forgot, threw in handful of craisins at end (not blended)

Good evening all. 57ºF for the start, mostly cloudy, moderate breeze. Light wind, sky cleared off, and high temp was 79ºF. Made coffee to start day, made oatmeal for breakfast. Boat guy let me know he was going to do spring service, so pumped up trailer tires, check for grease in bearings. SIL came over and we got Christmas lights down and measured stacks that the squirrels had eaten lead cover on, so I can order replacements. After he left was time to start charcoal for brats and chicken thighs, after meat on grill, boat guy brought boat back, everything in good shape except trailer bunks. Managed to overcook brats a bit thighs were so big they in good shape. Dinner was good in spite of brats

Drinking first cup of coffee. 25° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 36° with mix of sun and clouds. Made a couple of wood fixtures to cut roofing to proper lengths. Information from U-Tube helped a lot. May get stated on installing with neighbors help next week. Depends on his schedule and weather. Not sure what I will get into today.
It's that time of year when Sandhill Cranes do their Dance.

Wind increasing. A mix of clouds and sun. High 37F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Tonight 03/08
Mostly clear. Low around 25F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.

Yesterday was a conserve energy day, my get up and go, got up and went. Lots of power outages all around us, we were lucky only a couple of blips. Kudos to all the line workers and tree guys . Lots of yard clean up this spring after mud season.

Dump run first thing this morning and then not sure about the rest of the day.

Scotty, the chair is looking great. Looks like a hard project.

Took Della for a hike and swim. The parks department had a big crew working to tow heavy 2x6x16 treateds back 2 miles to rebuild the deck on a viewing platform. They were using a small one axle "trailer" that consisted of only a 2 foot long steel "V" on top of the axle...no tongue. Using a tow rope behind a John Deere Gator to pull it up and down steep hills...one where they had to unload it and hand carry the lumber up the hill. Had to make 3 trips to get all the lumber there. They were all very friendly and loved Della.

Then took my wife for Torchy's Tacos and a Costco run. They had sale prices on many of the things on our list, so we stocked up and emptied our wallets. Parking lot was packed, but folks in store nice and check-out was fast. Last stop was a grocery store where she used her coupons to get several freebies.

34 this morning. Should hit 70 today but supposed to be breezy with clouds.
Easy day yesterday. Moved stuff from one part of the shop to another side.
Walked the dog a couple of times. And probably the same today.
Stared at the torch cart for a little bit that was it.
