Anyone have experience to share (good) and/or pictures (better) on where this is located? For SyncroShuttle it's not the same place as the PowerShuttle.
I found no reference of it (for SyncroShuttle) in the AGCO online parts guide. That guide does show the PowerShuttle solenoid but, again, it's not in that location for SyncroShuttle.
The Operator Instruction Book has it in the wiring schematic but has no reference to the location.

FWIW, I've traced good voltage/continuity from the PTO switch, through diode, to the ECU but cannot find the 🤬 solenoid. The wires leaving the ECU are wrapped in the big cable bundle - opening that up is last choice.

If anyone has a Service Manual for that series and could look it up (or even share the manual), that'd be swell.

Thanks

FWIW, this question branched off of this thread where I've been troubleshooting a PTO problem.

Go on the Agco parts catalogue and look for: HYDRAULIC SYSTEM - MAIN HYDRAULIC SYSTEM (2/2), SYNCROSHUTTLE TYPE

Depending on your serial number, it should be either the 36A or the 36B valve.

Thanks ptsg. I was looking at that same diagram but it threw me because I don't see a solenoid, just the valve. If I'm following the lines right, looks like that's on the right-side, forward of the axel.

Any more info on the solenoid itself?

Thanks again

Yes, the solenoid is there. It's the part either # 43 or #44 on the 36A PTO valve. On the 36B, it's attached to the valve and they didn't separate it in the parts catalog.

My instinct says it's #43 because I kinda see a wire there? They call it pressure valve for some reason.

This parts catalog seems a bit confusing specially with their naming to the parts.

Given that 81 says "PTO pipe" and goes right to 36x, I think you're spot-on. TY for pointing that out.

Must be the pipe that feeds the valve. I believe the feed to the clutch pack is done via a passage in the transmission housing.

To wrap up this thread with an answer, I've confirmed item 43 in the parts manual, above, called "Pressure Valve", is indeed the MF 1533 SyncroShuttle PTO valve solenoid. Attached are two pics of it, from above and below, and another pic showing easiest access, through the right-side access plate behind the rear wheel.

1000 thanks to @ptsg

That's indeed the PTO solenoid right there. I would measure the voltage at that plug and see if it's a wiring issue or a bad solenoid.

For more info, this solenoid is number 35 on the wiring diagram.

yeah for sure check voltage, may need to have seat depressed to check though not sure if safety switch on seat would come into play.

I am getting voltage on the hot wire down there and when the PTO switch is on the return leg drops a couple of volts, which seems fine. However, I cannot confirm the solenoid is actually moving and opening the valve; I don't hear nor feel any movement, clicks, etc. :cautious: I intend to remove the solenoid to confirm if it moves but unsure if any/how much hydraulic oil might come out of the solenoid port. Possibly messy.

One other way I can think of to test is to remove an end from 81, the PTO pipe, and see if the oil flows when the switch is engaged, which will most probably be messy

you would have to have engine running to do last method listed, good way to get a lot of air into system I suspect.
could be wrong, not familiar with that model.
with the quality of hydro fluid you had in there I think there is a chance solenoid\valve assy got damaged.

Can't quite tell from the picture but usually, you can remove the solenoid without pulling the cartridge valve out.

As an example, I pulled some random pictures on the internet. This is the cartridge valve:

This is the solenoid that slides over that shaft on the upper picture:
